I was nervous as I knocked gently at the door to the Alpha's study. After a few more seconds of waiting, the door opened. I saw Caleb standing there with a sad look in his eyes as he motioned me in. His shoulder was bent and, for a second, even my wolf felt saddened by the look on his face and his eyes.
"He looks very sad. Even though I don't feel the mate bond, it still hurts me to see him like this," Amey said with a deep sigh. Usually my wolf was not one to talk about feelings. She was spunky and too wild for her own good, but now I could feel how sad she was for him and it wa strange.
"I am really not doing this to hurt him, not at all. But he hurt me, and I- I need space and time."
