The day was clearing up when Luise emerged from the trees, alone and staggering down the path. Before I could say anything she looked up and saw me at the window, hurried her steps and ran into the dorm, her face changed as soon as she saw me and as far as I could tell all the alcohol she had ingested was gone. Almost twenty minutes went by and Maria didn't show up, so I decided to go there to see what happened and why she didn't run away when she had the chance.
I can't explain the relief I felt to see her. Today is a day off for everyone except Louise, which must be why Maria didn't return.
