Merlin
These were difficult days, but I was ready to face whatever was to come. Abnerzy was always by my side, let's just say that her company most of the time was not so bad.
"Where do you think you will get to by drinking like crazy? Drinking will embarrass you, not give you super powers, Merlin." - Her raspy, shrill voice was also horrible, and when she was angry, she could be even more horrible.
"I smiled, letting the goblet in my hand spill the liquid on the floor, which absorbed every drop. - Look at what you've done."
"You are a despicable human being!" - Abnerzy turned her back to me while looking at the horizon, she seemed to be thinking about something.
"You're wrong, I'm not completely human. They are useless and good for nothing."
"You say this because you have gone two centuries without knowing of your daughter's existence? For a Wizard, you've been pretty clueless lately. It would have been more useful to have given her to me in exchange for your sister's life."
I was unable to assimilate the idea that I had a daughter and that she was already 20 years old. How did I not know this? How was I not suspicious of the birth of a girl, in a family that was birthing men? Was I a roll or a carefree one? I loved Leah with all my strength, gave her everything in my power and yet she chose to marry Ulysses, when she could run away with me to be happy for the rest of our lives, opened up even more of her magic and today she was dead.
"Do not enter places that do not suit you. That is not your business, Abnerzy. You have already taken Danira, you have nothing more to do with my daughter. Leave her alone."
"I would, if she didn't beg me to take her to her mother. Your daughter conjures magic, Melin. Magic that is as strong as yours. Do you know who her best her best friend? Carlen!"
It couldn't be! Carlen was a wizard who had been dead for more than seven centuries. His burial was something that all non-human beings respected. He was a great man, he helped the poor by keeping the n*****s from their crops and doing the will of some kings in exchange for the freedom of his people.
"It can't be, he has been dead for more than 700 years." - I took the last sip of wine and felt the icy wind on my face, and at the same time I saw Abnerzy disappear and finally I was alone with my loneliness.
I felt a wave of energy that was being distributed by a lightning bolt that was falling into the lake next to a waterfall. I raised my arms to receive all the strength that the gods were offering me and thanked them for it, I really needed it.
Luna
The few days that I was in his pack, I learned a few things and he abhorred any kind of magic. Some of his men were injured, and with the knowledge of herbs I did some healing, which aroused some interest in him, for he kept asking how I knew his secrets; what I was or who had taught me.
"One day you will have to tell me how you learned to do these things. I'm no fool, Luna."
"I'm not trying to make a fool of you. I'm just doing what I learned from my mother. We were humble people and she only knew how to use the herbs, there is nothing witchcraft related about it. If you want I can teach you some secrets if you want, you will see that there is nothing much to it."
"I appreciate your good will, but I have no pleasure in knowing this kind of medicine or whatever you call it." - It was ugly and night was coming, I couldn't see in the dark and the lights were very few. The candles ran out too fast, the torches were lit more to warn that people lived there, if I can call them people.
I couldn't get used to it at all. I slept for fear that something would happen to me or that I would have an outbreak in the middle of the night and everyone would see, the truth is that I hadn't slept in days and it was starting to affect me.
"It looks like a storm is coming. The night will be long." - I said with a long sigh.
"Sleep in my quarters, I will not spend the night here. I have to take care of my people, I can't let the absence of my mother affect me like this."
"Longing is something that will never diminish, but knowing how to deal with it, it can give you the strength to overcome even the most hostile things that come your way."
"I don't know how to deal with loss, that's not a defect!" - Lancelot left upset and resentful.
Most of the women were married and had children or offspring! Those who were still single were also looking for a man to bond with, and Lancelot, as well as being the Alpha, was also the most coveted among them, and he already had many mistresses. This gave me a bad name among them, because they saw me as an enemy who was fighting with them for him, and this will never happen.
"They envy you." - A Nymph said as she handed me a basket of greens and vegetables.
"Why do they envy me?" - I frowned in surprise, even though I already knew the truth.
"Because you were the chosen one for Lancelot, chosen by the gods. They wanted to be in your place. I know what you are, but you can rest assured that I am on your side and I believe your words. Be more careful, please."
First that the woman was a Nymph, which was already strange due to the fact that Lancelot abhors any being that is not a wolf or has a monster living inside.
"Her hand was touching mine in a subtle way." - Your secret will be kept with me. But how did you end up here?
"Eight years ago I fled from my village, it was burned down by Malvin's troops, they burned everything and there were almost no people left alive, and I was one of those people. I was lost in the middle of the forest and Danira found me, she was Lancelot's mother, a strong and wise woman. So, she took me to her shelter and took care of me, I believe she received help from the gods for this, because I no longer felt my body when she made me live again."
"So only she knew about you?"
"Actually she always knew, even though she never asked me anything, she always knew. But, let's forget that, here we are two women seeking the best for our tribe. My name is Meei."
"My name is Luna. Exactly, we are two women who want the best for our tribe and I will do my best, but I can't stay here for the rest of my life. My mother died to save me and I can't pretend that nothing happened."
"You will know the right time, I can see that you are a determined person. I am at your disposal to help you, Luna." - A child came up to her, pulling her long hair while holding a piece of raw meat, smeared with something similar to honey. "This is Jaaz, my son, the fruit of my marriage to Jason, one of the home we who guard us."
As I was resting my greens, I heard rustling coming from a few places, since the hut was exposed for all to see inside. Suddenly I saw Lancelot position himself beside me, tucking a lock of my hair behind my ear.
"Take care, I'll be away, but I'll be thinking of you."- His words were so unusual to me that, for a few seconds, I remained unresponsive. Then these will be the perfect days that I can run far away.
"I'll be fine." - I turned to the side, my face almost touching his, and for a matter of seconds I felt nervous and when that happens, I lose control over myself.
Lancelot
Being so close to her was driving me out of control. My monster had heightened senses sensing her smell. I have ordered that we spend three days and three nights hunting, so that we can rest for a few days and maybe we will move to another place, we need a safer place for our children. Luna was driving me crazy and I won't be at peace until I get a taste of her, but I like privacy, today will be the perfect moment to try to impress you, I can't fail.
"I want to be able to talk to you before I go, but I ask that we be alone." - I asked, whispering in her ear, watching her cut the vegetables and smile mischievously.
"I hope it's not something about the herbs."
"That's out of the question, Luna. I swear I won't touch that subject. I... I feel an absurd need to have you near me for once."
"I don't think this is right, Lancelot." - His voice was in a whispery tone, which aroused more interest in this human. "I don't want to take anyone's place and there are many in line, vying for a chance to be yours. Besides, I…"
"Shi…" - I touched her lip, making it clear that I knew she had never kissed anyone. Her pure smell was what was making me think crookedly, and deep down I just wanted to be able to feel her next to my body. - "I know exactly how you are. I won't do anything, I just want to talk to you quietly, without anyone watching us."
"Lancelot, please don't confuse things. I am grateful that you rescued me, but I can't give you hope that anything will happen between us."
"Why are you rejecting me? What do I need to improve in order to please you? What do I need to do to convince you to be mine?"
"I won't be yours, but there's nothing wrong with you. You're amazing, Lancelot." - Her hands touched my face and she dared to turn her back on me and walk away as if I were nobody. She is bold and that arouses even more interest in her, which I think is fantastic.
"Perfect, I'll wait for you when the moon is under the shadow of the seventh cloud. I want it to stay warm, just as the others will."
"That's very kind of you, big guy." - His fingers touched my chest and gave me a slight shiver. "But, I think it's best if we keep our distance, not least because I don't intend to spend my whole life here. I've already helped you with what I do best, helping others."
"You did what you do best! That's interesting. But you didn't do it for me, you did it for those who were hurt, and what about me?"
"You will have my eternal gratitude, isn't that enough for you?" - She was walking backwards as she followed my steps and only stopped when her body bumped into a tree, then I realized that we were already quite far away. "Lancelot, I can't see in the dark and…"
Our lips touched and Luna responded to my every touch, but I didn't overstep my limits, or I would no longer be able to have limits when I was in front of her. Slowly, she pulled away, placing her hand on my chest and smiling as she shook her head in denial.
"This is crazy. We can't do this anymore, Lancelot."
"I don't satisfy you?"
"It's not that, it's just that I don't think this is a good time for this, besides I have my whole life ahead of me and I don't want to put you in my risky way. So, I think it's better that we are just friends for the time being."
I can't deny that I was feeling rejected and that hurt, because no one else would ever dare to reject me in such a way, I am Lancelot and...
"Stop thinking nonsense and let's eat, the others won't eat if you're not at the table and I'm starving."
