Luna
As I entered my room, the faceless being was there and this time smiling at me. I looked out the window and saw my mother being dragged out of a carriage by my grandfather, so I didn't think twice and jumped out the window, falling on the bushes and a little far from where they could see me. I couldn't stay where I was and do nothing. My blood boiled when I saw my father watching the scene with disdain and around my mother, there were several wolves, just waiting for orders to attack. I walked slowly and quietly through the rivulets until our gazes met, but our lips remained still. We had the gift of telepathy and in that moment I felt her pain, her prayers and a desperate mother asking me to get out of there as fast as possible, but I wouldn't be such a coward to do that. Deep inside of my being I was afraid and felt that I would lose her, no matter how strong I was I could never stop so many of them at once, but I didn't think twice when I came out of the trees, revealing who I really was and the beast that dwelled inside of me. But I was still just a girl afraid of her fears.
"You can do it, Luna. Be brave and save her." - My aunt stood beside me, her hands holding a necklace of green stones, she reached out and put it around my neck, her amber necklace.
I ran as fast as I could until I reached my mother. The faceless being stood there staring at me as my father grabbed my arm and pulled me to the ground.
"Look and see her killed for betraying her family and most of all, for betraying me." - His hands were gripping my face tightly, but I forced it aside until I reached for his hand and bit down as hard as I could.
I just wanted to get close to her, but I was attacked by a wolf, and I pulled out my dagger and stabbed him in the stomach, making him fall on top of me. A crowd of soldiers and some hybrids invaded our house, forming the wolves' attention, but not that of my grandfather who was trying to hold on to my mother's arms by all means.
"You useless old man." - I said, rolling my eyes and asking the gods for strength.
The will gave me more energy and since I was a child my mother taught me everything I need to know, as well as my aunt who always taught me everything she knows and because we are the same I learned easily and already knew how to conjure spells that could lead to death and that was one of the right moments to use.
"Witch!" - The people nearby spoke loudly, while my mother smiled proudly to see that I had learned everything she taught me very well.
The energy took over my body and when I looked, flames were coming out of my fingers and I was being driven by rage. Before things could get any worse, I immediately saw my eyes on my grandfather's and saw him burning in flames, begging for forgiveness. I saw my mother trying to run, but being caught by my father's arms, I saw all the wolves heading in her direction. I levitated and summoned the beast that lived trapped inside me, just waiting for an opportunity to be exposed and bring destruction to those close by. And again that faceless being was beside me, but this time smiling as if enjoying the scene before his eyes.
"I always knew that inside this sweet girl dwelled an uncontrollable beast." - Her laughter was loud, was heard by all, and had the power to drive the weakest of us crazy.
Some wolves were evacuating, others were falling and being tortured by laughter, and those that were left were once again surrounding my mother.
"You created a monster, now at last you will know what I really am. You made me this way, Dad. - I said, walking towards Ulysses, whom I never had the slightest affection for." - Let her go if you want to survive. - "I asked, watching him smile as he watched my mother suffer."
My grandfather was just agonizing, I ceased the flame from his body and made him scream in pain, fixing my eyes on his and connecting our thoughts so that he felt my anger, this was uncontrollable in moments of despair in which I was now finding myself.
"Ulysses, let her go, I beg you." - His almost inaudible voice did not cause any commotion in his son and he continued to challenge me, which I did not find bad, because I had been waiting for this moment for many years.
"No father, you have controlled me for many years and now it is high time that I control myself. By the way, this here would be called treason and you know what the punishment is for traitors! Leah gave me a bastard and a witch daughter, and you know that I have never had any tolerance for treason."
"How can you say that with such conviction? Did you betray her with the maid, or do you really think I was the holy fool they thought I was?" - I let a chuckle escape, but without letting the old man get away. - "I know all about your past, Dad."
My black hair was turning into lightning, as if I was about to explode at any moment. Just like my fingers, my body was also on fire and this was enough for me to let the will take over me and finally release the beast that was wanting to come out. Opening my arms, I closed my eyes and wished with all my heart that my mother would survive, but suddenly Malvin's troops were invading our territory. My mother was the first to be shot with an arrow in her chest, dying in Ulysses' arms, who had her body tied to a stake. I fixed my eyes on his and sucked out all his energy, leading him to a slow death and watching his body wither and wither right there in front of me. At this moment I was just a girl being driven by anger and pain. There was nothing I could do for my mother anymore, but I still stood by her side and picked her body up, running as fast as I could, entering the forest and placing her beside a fig tree.
"Mom…" - My tears wet the ground and made the flowers die.
"Survive, Luna. Forgive me for having failed you in some things, I should have spared you some things and prepared you for others." - Her hand smoothed my face while she still smiled.
"You didn't miss anything." - I knelt down beside her and begged for mercy. - "You can't leave me alone, you can't die."
"My legacy on earth has come to an end and this is my moment. Everything is going exactly as I had anticipated, my child. Now go, run as far away as you can, they will not rest until they find you. Go to this address and trust the voices, the hidden ones are on your side."
"I love you mom, I will love you all my life."
"I will always love you, my child. My little sorceress Luna." - After the last tear fell, I saw her body turning to ashes and being blown away by the wind, leaving only that arrow in the grass as dead as my soul.
I obeyed her and ran as far as I could, when I could stand it no longer. After a few hours, I realized that I was already too far away and I could no longer hear anything but the sound of the waterfall in front of me, I stopped right on the edge of a cliff and almost didn't fall. My body was at its limit, I had no more strength left, so I knelt down, screamed and cried until I couldn't stand the exhaustion and fell asleep right there.
Lancelot
Malvim's troops caused a great deal of havoc, Merlin could do nothing for my array and now only destruction, fear and pain remained. The children were frightened and all the huts on the ground. I wished I could scream until the pain was gone, but I couldn't control my monster and in the moment of rage and lack of control I ripped the heads off all of Malvin's soldiers, but he ran away and I wouldn't be at peace until I did the same with his head.
Merlin didn't appear at any time to help me, I was helpless and with my dead matrix, but I had to watch over his body and cremate it, as has always been the tradition.
My monster was running as fast as he could, I was hunting everything that came my way, out of control and thirsting for revenge. The full moon hung over me as I calmed down, feeling my body too weak to keep running. A fallen body caught my attention and soon my senses sniffed it, it was not dead. It was a human, small and bruised.
"I'm fine, I just got tired and got lost. - She was awake, but very tired and her face was purple, as if she had been beaten badly."
"Where do you come from and what are you?"
"I am Luna, I come from Oneduz and I got lost. My mother was killed by wolves and Malvin's troops, do you know them?" - Her lost gaze wandered as she looked to the horizon as if she didn't give a damn about me.
"I know you. I am Lancelot, come with me, it is too dangerous here at night for a lost girl, besides there is a damned wizard wandering around here."
"I don't mind spending the night here, the dead girl will be welcome. I have her as a good friend." - She was crying without any action.
"I also lost my mother today, I know exactly how great your pain is. Come with me, you will have a place to sleep and warm yourself tonight." - I held out my hand to her and she accepted, but she was too weak to stand. I took her in my arms and she sudde
nly fainted. It will be a long road, but I hope I won't regret it.
