Chapter 26 Gabriel

KIARA POV

"Bravo" I heard the deep voice say. Ryan and I both looked over in unison. I watched him slow clap as he walked with confidence towards us, smiling ear to ear. This man wasnt human. I quickly assessed my surroundings and found we were no longer in danger. The fighting had stopped, the insurgents were either dead or captured and everyone was safe in the packhouse or their homes. For a moment my mind thought about the beta but I quickly pushed him out of my mind as this unknown male came closer. He made Ryan look short in comparison. This guy was easily 6 foot 7. While he was a few inches taller than Ryan, he wasnt as thick as Ryan but this guy was ripped, every muscle flexing with even the slightest movement. He had sandy blonde hair with random pieces of light brown and silver. His eyes hazel with specks of gold and green and his face looked weathered. He stopped a couple feet in front of us, eyeing me. I felt Ryan tense and turn to face him.

The stranger just chuckled.

"Dont worry young Alpha. I mean Kiara no harm" and he turned to me and smiled.

I watched Natalia, Zach and the redwood warriors we brought make their way to our side. No one knew if this stranger was friend or foe.

Before anyone could get a word out, I see the unknown turn his head as if he heard something behind him. He smirked and looked down at the ground.

At that moment I see Keely walk out of the woods behind the other hunter, a knife to his neck.

"Can I keep this one?!" She yelled all the while keeping the knife to his neck.

"He's kind of cute. He'd make a great pet!" She yelled again from across the valley.

My face couldn't have hidden my grin even if I tried.

"your friend is a sneaky one" said the stranger,as he kneeled down picking up one of my knives that had dropped.

He tossed it up in the air and as the handle landed back in his hand he turned throwing it, in a flash so quickly I couldnt register it. Next thing I see, the blade of my knife had landed in the hunters forehead.

"oh come on!" I hear Keely yell.

He turned back to me, still smiling.

"Lets talk shall we" extending his hand.

"lets not" Ryan says.

I couldn't even get a word out, partly because I was in shock and the other because Ryan was in Alpha protector mode. I dont even want to imagine what it would be like if Dustin was here too.

The stranger brought his right hand up to his forehead rubbing his temples.

"dont test me boy" He said and I watched his eyes flash gold.

Ryan was reeling but he knew not to act on something or someone he didnt know.

"tell me, young alpha, dont you think that if I wanted to kill you or Kiara I would have by now? I know youre not stupid" the deep voice reassured him. Ryan only stared at him, analyzing him and trying to read him.

"also" the stranger continued, "dont you think this was all a little too easy?" and outstretched his arms. "think about it. these wolves were weak and there were few and why would they attack a pack so small and inexperienced if they wanted power and resources? for the fun of it I presume?" and he laughed.

I watched Ryan take in everything he had just heard. I knew something didnt seem right and so did Ryan. This was too easy.

"you have my attention" said Ryan.

"its not really yours I care about right now" and took a step forward.

Ryan stepped in between him and I, this clearly frustrating the stranger.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

"I like you young alpha but you're really making me begin to question my judgment" he said irritated.

I touched Ryans shoulder who slightly turned to look at me.

"its ok, I said softly" not taking my eyes away from the unknown blonde standing in front of me.

"see Alpha, its ok" the stranger said taunting Ryan and pushed past him, his shoulder hitting Ryans as he passed and smiling a smug grin of victory.

He cupped my left hand in both of his and looked down at me smiling adoringly. His eyes scanned my face and hair and body but it didnt seem in a lustful way but a loving way, like he had found something he had been searching for, for a long time now.

"who are you?" I asked looking up at him desperate for an answer.

He maintained his smile but his eyes turned soft.

"Oh mein schatzi.. "he sighed. "My name is Gabriel. I am one of the last remaining Lycans and more importantly, I am your uncle, Kiara"

I think my heart stopped.

Keely casually appears beside us.

"So what did I miss?"

RYANS POV

What the hell did I just hear? Lycan?

I watched Kiaras eyes widen as she studied her uncles face. The resemblance was indeed uncanny. I remember hearing about some lycan ancestry in Germany and what I heard earlier sure as hell sounded like german to me.

"I'd heard you all went extinct" I said flatly to Gabriel.

He released his hold on Kiaras hands and his head lowered.

"Almost. Im trying to prevent history from repeating itself with you all" Gabriel said matter of factly.

"What do you mean?" my curiosity and concern peaked.

He was about to answer me when I saw Kiara, a small tear falling from her face.

"Where have you been?" she asked suddenly but quietly, her voice breaking but her eyes not leaving his. He was about to answer when she asked again.

"Where were you when my parents died?"

her voice becoming more agitated. I can't say I blame her. I was wondering the same thing. She thought she had no family left except Dustin.

I saw Gabriel wince and his muscles tighten when she spoke.

"I know you want answers but lets perhaps talk about all this back at the Redwood Pack. There is much to discuss. I promise Kiara. I will tell you and Dustin everything. " He said.

I couldn't help but ask although I think I already knew because Dustin would have told me. I think I just wanted to hear what he had to say.

"so dustin doesn't know either?" I asked trying to hide my sarcasm.

Gabriel looked at me and smiled.

"dont play dumb with me young alpha. you already know the answer to that"

He looked back at Kiara. "check on the beta. I know youre worried about him but I can assure you that he will be fine. The bullets were not silver. Gather your things and Ill meet you all back at Alpha Ryans cabin" and with that he shifted into his Lycan, twice as large as us, twice as fast and gold just like Kiara.
