Out of nowhere Candy reappeared, grabbed Hazel by the arms and dragged her through the restaurant and shoved her out the front door. Then she stomped back inside and collected Hazel’s belongings from where she’d been seated and then moved back to the door and threw them at her. She looked at Grier with a smile, her hands resting on her hips, “that felt really good considering all the times she’s come home with you and tossed snide comments my way. I’m happy to function as your muscle if you need me.”
The entire restaurant clapped for Candy, and she took a deep bow before returning to the kitchen whistling happily. Sissy squeezed Grier’s shoulder and then clapped loudly.
