Chapter 4

Zeb POV

I guess I have to be ready for this, but I can’t help but be protective. This Alpha Heath meets my daughter and the first words out of his mouth is “Mate”. This is my little girl. She is not ready for a mate. And I don’t know this young man very well. As soon as I heard my daughter’s voice in the kitchen, I wanted to talk to her. I walk in and find him, wrapped around my child. I want to rip his arms off but I know that this is her mate and I can’t. So instead, I clear my throat. “Hmmm, hmm. Alpha Heath, could you let my daughter have some space? I realize that you have found your mate, but she is still underage and we wouldn’t want anyone to think that you were indecent.”

I link my daughter, “Aubrey, when he removes his hands, I need you to move over to me.” Then I  link my mate, “I need you in the kitchen, right now”

Chloe POV

I am slowly going insane. We have four of our neighboring packs here for a gathering. My daughter just met her mate. My husband wants to kill this young man and all he has done is meet our daughter. People are coming over to talk to me and I get a mind link from my mate. “I need you in the kitchen, right now”

I excuse myself and make my way to the kitchen to find what looks like a standoff between my husband and Alpha Heath with my daughter being the person in the middle. “Alpha Heath, may I speak with you in private for a few moments?” As I gesture him toward our office, I link my husband “You need to calm down, this is natural and we are not going to try to stand in the way of the Goddess’ will” 

We enter the office and we take a seat, “I want to congratulate you on finding your mate. As you can see, we love our daughter very much. I need to let you know, she won’t be 16 until Saturday.”

He is not surprised, but he seems to look very worried. “I want you to feel welcome here and I want to encourage you to get to know Aubrey while you are here. But I will need you to remember that she is not yet of age and there are some things that we will have to ask that you respect.”

“Physical contact needs to remain very G rated. I will make sure that you can have time with her and I want to assure you that my husband is going to back off the over protective father stance. We were just very surprised and he has to get used to the idea that she isn’t a baby anymore”

Heath POV

Aubrey’s mother is very sweet and she is giving me the impression that she understands the situation. I hear everything she is saying but all I can think is that I have to get back to my mate.

“Thank you Alpha Chloe, I understand” 

As we finish our talk, we head out of the office to rejoin the rest of the guests. I find my mate mingling with all the teens. I make my way over to her. I fight the urge to wrap my arms around her and it is very difficult. Instead, I gently put my hand on her shoulder. She doesn’t move away from my touch. I feel electric sensations running from my hand where I am touching her. She smells so amazing and she is so beautiful. She begins introducing me to the young people. 

“This is Alpha Heath Stone, he is my mate.” There it was again, she just introduced me as her mate. All the young people around us are introducing themselves, but I am focused on Aubrey. This beautiful young lady is so amazing. She is so mature for her age.
