Thank you for taking the time to read this book, and I hope you enjoyed it. Fillius Glint has had an interesting journey. When my dad, an avid science fiction reader, was diagnosed with cancer, I wanted to publish a book that he’d enjoy reading before he… I mean, not that he was going to… you know. So, I scurried through a 100k novel that was a hot pickled mess and subsequently threw it all out.
My dad got better, but I’d been bitten by the book bug and there was no holding me back. Enter now: this weird little number sitting in your hands this very second.
For months, I called this book The Magic Pencil, a nod to the Chinese folktale, The Magic Paintbrush, which had inspired parts of my story. About halfway through edits, I realized that Fillius Glint was a pretty title-y nam
