Eva was so surprised how her own best friend could be so self centered and embittered. She decided to wave it off feeling that Natasha must be going through a lot, they have been friends for four years now so why would her friend Even think of hurting her?

Natasha and Eva has been close friends ever since their first year in secondary school. Natasha was more physically attractive than Eva, though the latter was far more brilliant. Despite their differences, the two friends respected their limits and never allowed anyone come between them.

Eva could not still why her friend behavior became so unusual after the a trivial incident.

*Flashback*

(At Natasha's house)

"Who am I seeing?!! see my bestie aww, Eva you remembered me today?" Natasha shouted on top of her voice with excitement.

"Why the shout Nat?, is this the first time I'm coming here?" Eva said

"How can this be your first time here,you are not a visitor here o, it's just that you came at the right time......

"mom prepared jollof rice with a very big chicken" Vicky Natasha Junior brother interrupted

"Vicky, can't you greet senior Eva?"

"Oh Nat can you stop? Vicky,I guess I'm so lucky right? "

"Is that Eva?" Natasha's mom asked coming out to the balcony

"Yes,Good afternoon Ma"

"Good afternoon my daughter, you came just in time, would you mind joining us for lunch?"

After the lunch and series of discussions and fun, Eva decided to go home as she had stayed long enough, Natasha decided to accompany her home.

"Eva, I want to tell you something"

"Go on,"

"Okay. so I met this guy, one of those workers in that three story building over there. He told me that he wants me to be his girlfriend."

"So what did you say?"

"I haven't replied to him yet though, but that's not where it ends. He told me to come to his house...

"Don't tell me you went"

"Okay, I was less busy that day, so tell me why I shouldn't go!

"You're not being serious now"

"I didn't actually go into the house, I was just at the gate side, then he brought me a phone. Like Eva a brand new android phone! "

"So what? "

"I didn't take it. I told him I couldn't"

"you shouldn't have gone in the first place!, how sure am I that something else didn't happen? "

" Believe whatever Eva, but don't tell anyone about this"

"But, Nat I don't want this life for you, don't try going to any man's house again!"

" Nothing happened Eva! besides the guy is nice and we still talk regularly on my button phone"

"Simply accept that he is your boyfriend!,stop beating around the bush!"

"Silly girl"

Eva kept on thinking about her discussion with Natasha. No boy has ever offered her an android phone before, how lucky Natasha is. But deep down her she had a great fear because she didn't want her best friend to be deceived but she decided to cover the matter on.the ground that nothing would happen to Natasha.

When Natasha returned home, she saw 3 Missed call on her phone and one received call, she remembered vividly that she kept her phone and went to accompany Eva home. So who received her call? as she turned her back,she saw her elder sister Vera staring suspiciously at her.

"You owe me an explanation Nat" Vera said and left.

Just then Natasha realized that it was Vera that received the call, Unfortunately for her,the call was from Junior,the guy she just told Eva about.

" Natasha don't tell me that you have grown enough wings to leave your house to go and see someone "Vera angrily told her

" Oh please! I don't know who the person was,did I save the number?"

" Natasha, that number called severally and to avoid mom knowing I decided to pick the call, and this guy said "Hi Nat, it's me Junior,this is my other line the first one is down"

" How can this guy be so dumb don't he recognize the difference between our voices?" Natasha silently cursed

" And this showed that you already know him"Vera continued

" I don't know him Vera!, that's an unknown number "

" Come on Nat, don't lie to me.you know our voices sounds the same. from my discussion with this guy,you went to his house.true or false?"

" My God! Vera how can I go to someone else's house when I don't even know him?"

" He offered you a phone?"

" Vera stop"

" Well,I would stop at nothing, tomorrow we're going to see your friend Eva. I'm sure she knows something!"

" Vera, why concern yourself with my matters?.....

"Else, I would tell mom!" Vera gave Nat a very threatening response and left.

Natasha understood what would happen if her mother should know about all this, so she decided to put all her hopes on Eva, she wouldn't let the cat out of the bag"

*The Next day*(at Eva's house)

" Eva, I want you to tell me the truth "Vera told her

Eva looked at Natasha's face already drenched with tears

"Senior, please I don't know anything about any guy"Eva responded

" Eva I am your own sister"Alexa her elder sister told her. " You know how I and Vera are best friends, so are you and Nat. Vera wants the best from her sister,she doesn't want her to be deceived,so Eva if you really love your friend, I guess you should talk now."

Eva really loved Natasha, she began to find some sense in what Alexa said and decided to give in.

"I would talk" Eva said.

Natasha's POV

"Eva is so dumb! how could she?. No wonder she does not easily get approached by boys. So dumb. I only told her about Junior and she's like this,what if I told her I was dating?

I would Never ever tell her anything important about me again.

It was after this incident that Eva began to see changes in Natasha. Eva decided to openly confront her. She became tired of the cold war going on between them. Just then her phone rang bringing her back to reality.

It was Lucky. She met him on her back from the market. She was surprised when he stopped her. "what did he see in me that he stopped me?I'm sure he is here to decieve me" She silently thought.

But ever since they knew, She began to develop a liking for him. He is fun to talk with, always making her laugh anytime she was sad. She literally accepted to be his girlfriend. but at a point he began to ask for s*x. She's not ready to break her virginity now! no way. He has asking her to come to his house but she always refused.

" How could I even break my virginity with a guy like him? ever since I knew him he has never spent a dime on me, always giving flimzy excuses, so poor that I heard he Even borrows clothes and slippers, he is even a womanizer. I can't try it. Besides I have a dream to chase, so why destroy it now? " Eva thought as she rejected his call for the second time.

She immediately received a text from him.

"I was calling you to tell you that you are a piece of s**t. Who do you think you are? that's why all your friends are better than you. lol,do you think I ever loved you? you know I can't. Premature carrot."

Eva was so shocked.
