Saturday, June 14In the courtyard of the Islander, Andrea Benet was here, there, and everywhere, making sure the Plein-Air artists had enough of everything. The artists munched their way through a buffet arrangement of tiny frittatas, a baked omelet, poached eggs in nests of shredded potatoes and ham, plates of thin-sliced Coppa and the house-made sopressata. They browsed bowls of fresh strawberries, cut mangos, and figs, crescents of melon, and Greek yoghurt with blueberries, and helped themselves from baskets of croissants and cream-cheese Danish, whole- grain pull-aparts, bran muffins, and fruit scones. The air was fragrant, with the scents of fruit and spices underlying the smell of coffee.
