Apollo The forest behind Thesaurum’s southern wing was quiet, save for the soft crunch of her boots and the occasional chirp of pixies overhead. Charlie walked beside me, hands clasped behind her back, brows pinched like she was in deep, life-altering thought—which usually meant something chaotic was about to exit her mouth at full speed. I didn’t rush her. She was adorable when she was mentally spiraling. And right on cue— “So, uh… don’t make this weird,” she said. I stopped walking. She didn’t. She kept talking. “I may have made a list. Of questions. For Noah.” I turned to look at her. “A list.” “Just for, like, clarity! He’s been the one explaining stuff and I figured I should know things, and I’ve only seen him shift once, and it was kind of... a lot.” “You saw him shift.”
