Chapter 3: Two Years Later Part 2

1110 Words
Soon, our paws hit the rockier ground of where we were staying in a small valley. Eden was missing her packmates and needed to see them with her own eyes to know that we made the right choice. She needed to know that they were safe. It was hard for her to go on a morning run during pup season. Especially around the birthing period. What if someone attacked? What if someone died during labor? We wouldn’t have been here and that unsettled my girl deeply. We were returning to our family. This is our family, and you never abandon family. They might not be blood related with us, but we are bonded like a family. They are our home, and we are their home. And right now, home was beckoning to us just below our paws. Finally, we saw what we were waiting for. Ahead of us stood a large rock jutting out of the valley’s edge. I felt air brushing the bottom of Eden’s paws as she leaped. We landed with a loud thud and gazed out over her home. Wolves and others were starting to emerge from the depths of their dens. Some looked up. Some didn’t as they looked around. The cold of the rock seeped into Eden’s paws, and she shivered, but she stood tall and proud with her chest puffed out. I watched from within as she took in each of our packmates gaunt forms. Eden finally lifted her head up and let out a howl to summon the pack to her. Slowly every single wolf, panther, griffin, dragon, demon, angel, bear, vampire, fae, and witch surrounded us. Aztec, Klondike, Canyon, Ajax, Hades, Titan, Titus, and Cerberus joined us up on the rock. These were our current ranked wolves and more would be joining us today hopefully. The ranked wolves were the ones who we chose to rule and lead beside. They had earned their positions. We trusted them with our lives and with our pack. In return, I knew that they would lay their lives down for every pack member, each other, and us. The wolves next to me radiated the power that flowed through their veins. Most had the bloodline to be a ranked wolf as well, but the power that radiated out of them was power that we gave them by promoting them. It took only a few minutes for the entire pack to gather below us. I sent out the mindlink and Eden joined with my voice to give it the power and strength of an alpha. I want patrols sorted for the day within the next hour. I know I am setting you all up for your daily work early, but we need more hunting time and I need to speak to some pack members. The pack needs to be fed and guarded. I want at least twenty of each. When you are not guarding or hunting or talking to Eden and I, then I expect you to be training. I know that the hunting has been hard here, but it always is this time of the year. It always picks up though and this time will be no different. We will get through this spring together. The key is to not give up and to not turn on each other. It will turn around for us soon, I promise. Even if it doesn’t, I have an idea that I will be speaking to the ranked wolves about. The pack is strong, and we can survive this. We will survive this. We are strong enough to survive anything that we set our minds to. Our young pups and expecting females must be protected. Keep that in mind when you are guarding. Our family must be fed. Keep that in mind when you are hunting. Remember the gaunt faces and pelts of your hungry pack when hunting. Take strength knowing that each of you have the power to help us overcome this challenge. Remember the pack is always everyone’s number one priority and right now there are members that can’t help, which makes them our most important. Make sure that each of you join at least two patrols today on top of doing some training. Whether you do two of the same patrol or two different types of patrols or if you do more than two patrols, you are still required to do training. If you participate and help with patrols it doesn’t matter how. If you participate in training, it doesn’t matter how many patrols you do. Just make sure you meet your quotas today and every day. I will handle the 10:00pm to 3:00am patrol tonight. I will be handling a meeting and then hunting for most of the day. I will be back tonight. Make me proud today. Remember we are rogues, but that doesn’t mean that we must act like rogues or live like rogues. We don’t have to behave like rogues. We are more than just regular rogues. We gained what we always wanted most in the world and now we must rise above what a traditional rogue is. We have rose above what packs, covens, thunders, and everyone else is by being inclusive. We must be inclusive. We must be loyal. We must fight with honor. We must be honest and trustworthy. We may be rogues, but we have found a path that leads above other rogues. We have found a path that leads us above all others. In the end what matters most is that we are a pack! We are a family! Each of us at one point in time was looking for a place to belong. We were all turned away, because of how we were born or forced to live. We found each other, though! We found a home! We found a friend! We found a family! We are a pack and where the pack is, is where we belong. We will always fight for what we believe in and for the way that we have chosen to live. Remember that even when you are alone you aren’t truly alone. When you fight alone you aren’t truly fighting by yourself. When you hunt alone you are truly never alone. The spirit of the pack is always with each of you. We are Twisted Moon Pack! Advisor wolves, we will be having a meeting in the next couple of days. Get your reports ready. Ranked wolves, I need to speak with each of you now. I need Lincoln, Ryan, Brittany, and Kian to join us as well. Everyone please see Trey, Chasity, Jax, and their wolves for your duties! YES, ALPHA!
