Chapter2: Fourteen YearsLater

Wynter’s P.o.V. Over the last fourteen years, we have managed to build one of the largest packs in the world. We have almost 900 members and more join us every day. Currently, we were trotting through the snow-covered land of Praolia looking for a place to call home. Suddenly, I smell the delicious scent of magnolias, but I know that in this region it can’t possibly grow here. So, what exactly is giving off that wonderful scent. I took off ahead of the others and followed the scent. As I got closer another scent mixed with the scent of magnolias. It almost smelled like the magic essence of a witch. This was going to be interested. Finally I skidded to a stop when a male came into view and I instantly knew I met one of my future mates. I silently urged Eden to go back into the snowy forest so we could shift. She complied and soon I was tossing on my clothes. I walked out of the forest as soon as I was covered and he was standing there with wide eyes. “Hello, beautiful.” “Hello, handsome. I’m Wynter and you are…?” “Azriel. My sister Azaela is somewhere behind me. What brings a rogue like you out here?” “My pack and I are searching for a place to settle. What about you and your sister?” “Looking for a place to belong ourselves. You have a pack?” I nodded. “That’s cool! So…obviously you can tell that I am your mate. Would there be a place in your pack for my sister and I? If not I completely understand that it would mean you would be rejecting me.” “I have no intention of rejecting you. There is a place for you both. Let’s get your sister and then return to the pack. They are about a mile or two west of us.” He grinned at me. We walked back to where his sister was waiting and after a brief introduction, the three of us were heading back to my pack. It was good to walk with them. I got to know my mate and his sister well and I instantly knew that they would fit in perfectly with the pack. Eventually, I saw my packmates. Some in human form and some in wolf form. Kendrick and Kade jogged up to me. “Yo, b***h. Where’d you wander off too?” “Kade, shove off,” murmured Kendrick. “For your information, d**k face, I was meeting my mate.” The three of us shared a look and I shook my head. “That’s something that I wanted you two with me for.” “Of course, Wyn. Happy to help with that conversation, but it’s going to have to wait. We have some people requesting to join the pack.” I was instantly on high alert. “How many, Kendrick?” “Forty of them. They seem like good people. Twenty-four wolves and sixteen vampires. The lead wolf is about thirteen or fourteen. He seems like a great wolf. Seems like he would make a great ranked wolf. Up to you though.” I smile at my best friends and betas. “Let’s go meet this wolf and his companion then. That way I can judge them for myself.” I turned to Azriel and his sister. “You two are welcome to come with us or to hang back with the rest of the pack. It’s up to you.” They smiled and motioned for me to lead the way. I followed Kendrick and Kade kept pushing at me, so I shoved him into a tree. “d**k breath, knock it off or I will beat you. You know you can’t win a fight with me.” “I can always try, b***h,” he snarled playfully back at me. I bared my teeth and was about to launch into a war of words, but Kendrick cleared his throat first. “If you two can knock it off for ten minutes to meet our guests, I would greatly appreciate it.” I turned towards him and saw the laughter in his eyes and knew that he was enjoying this. I nodded my head at him, before turning towards our guests with a smile. “I am Wynter, the alpha of Twisted Moon. You have already met my betas, Kendrick and Kade. May I know who I am speaking with?” A young silver haired male stepped towards me with a hand stretched out. “I’m Orion. My companions and I had heard about a young trio that had formed a pack for those that belonged nowhere. We have been traveling in the hopes that one day our paths would cross.” It wasn’t much, but I instantly liked this young male wolf and knew that they all had a place within my pack. I quickly learned that Orion was fifteen and had joined up with the others a few months back. They didn’t have any idea where they were going to go, but Orion had told them about our pack and convinced them to follow him. I knew immediately that Orion would make a great ranked wolf and quickly made him a gamma that very day. Along with his companion Oliver. The other wolves and vampires had come from different groups, but were thrilled to now have a place to belong. Kian and Ryan. Jax, Jace, Trey, and Troy. All six I knew would find their places within the upper ranks one day. The others I could tell wouldn’t make the ranked, but that didn’t mean they wouldn’t be great members. Dean, Ben, Justin, and Dustin. Kaleb, Matthew, Kayden, Milly, and Sarah. Joyce and Brianna. Those three groups seemed like excellent hunters by the amount of food they brought in, but Dean seemed like he could excel in anything. Chelsea, Mandy, Sebastion, and Ezra. Friday, Brittany, and Denise. Ezekiel, Kyle, and Sally. All seemed like great patrol leaders. Mariah and Melissa. Hunter, Dakota, and Alaric. Ambrose, Azazel, and Acheron. Brexton and Byron. Cedric and Destiny. All seemed like strong and loyal wolves and vampires. I was proud of my pack for accepting all forty of them without a question. I was excited for what the future would hold. I knew I had a strong pack and that we could take anything that we wanted, but we had no need too. We just wanted a place to belong. A place to call home. A place that we can defend. A place that others can call home as well. That is what we are working towards now. A future where everyone is accepted. No matter species.
