Chapter 6: Hunting with Florence

1139 Words
Eden’s P.o.V. Wynter immediately gave me control and I shifted. I spun around and let out a growl at all ten before baring my teeth directly at Azriel, letting him know how mad I was. How mad Wynter was. Spinning back around, I darted off into the forest. I figured that Azriel would be wise enough to bring them back to the pack and let me cool off for a bit, but I was wrong. I felt all ten of them following me in their shifted forms. I figured that Azriel and Kallius were getting rides from the griffin and dragon. I glanced over my shoulder and saw them. I was right. Azriel was on the griffin and Kallius was on the dragon. Stupid males apparently didn’t know better than to follow a pissed off female. Well, they were about to learn. I noticed a dusty brown wolf running a little behind me on my right side. Letting out a growl, I pounced onto him and took him down. I clamped my jaws around his muzzle and softly growled a warning. He immediately let out a whimper and I leaped off of him before stalking in the direction I had been going. I felt the confusion coming off of them as I continued to stalk away from them. It was suddenly making me feel guilty and I could feel Wynter’s oozing throughout our mind. Letting out a sigh, I sat down next to a massive oak tree that stood near a meadow. I felt the others standing there watching me. Finally, Azriel walked up to me. “My love, I am sorry for upsetting you. I want to fix it, but I can’t if you and Wynter won’t speak to me. Can you please give control to Wynter?” I let out a huff before turning a yellow eye towards him. Then the mindlink was forged. No, Azriel. Right now, I have no wish to speak to you. Bring them back to the pack and let me and Eden hunt alone. Get lost. With those snarled words she slammed the link shut. Climbing to my paws, I started to walk away from him and the others. Then I felt my paws leave to ground as someone grabbed my scruff. “Not so fast, Princess. We are not done talking and you are not just going to send us away. That is not how this is going to work,” growled Jasper. “Jasper is right, even if he is being rough. Please shift so we can talk. We are just going to follow you anyways,” whispered Kalium. I looked at the dragon’s soft forest green eyes. I narrowed mine back at him and growled. “Eden, please stop growling at us. I love you and will do anything to make you not be pissed at me. Please,” Azriel pleaded with me. With a sigh, I nodded my head at him. Finally, my paws hit the ground with a loud thump. I growled at Jasper before padding in the forest behind us. I quickly gave Wynter control as we shifted into our human form. Wynter’s P.o.V. I tossed on clothes before walking back out and narrowed my eyes at Azriel. “What is it you want to say, Az?” He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. Giving it a tousled look. “I know you’re pissed at me, and I apologize so much, but please believe me that I am sorry. You are the love of my life.” “Very well,” I growled with a jerk of my head. “But you know how difficult spring is. I am needing to hunt so why are you bothering me with this now?” “I know I did this badly and should have waited until tonight to handle this. What can I do to make this better?” “Please just take them back to the pack. I just want to hunt for the back. Please.” He nodded before motioning for them to follow him. Casen came back out of the woods surprising me as I didn’t notice that he left. “Wynter, I would like to hunt alone with you. I want to talk to you more and get to know you better.” I shrugged as I didn’t really care if he wanted to come with me or not. As long as he hunted that is. If he doesn’t help me with hunting them, I would be sending him back to the pack. I walked back into the woods and gave Eden control as we shifted. She shook her pelt out before padding back out and saw Florence sitting patiently waiting for her. Thankfully the others finally left. Eden’s P.o.V. I motioned with my head to indicate that I want him to follow. I took off in search of something to hunt. Florence kept up well with me and even overtook me a couple of times. I jumped over a log and stopped as I noticed a herd of deer. Wynter forged a mindlink between us. Florence, Casen. If we creep around to the backside and drive them to you try to take at least five of them down, okay? We can easily do that, Wynter. Are you sure that you and Eden want to do that and not this part though? No, we would rather drive them to you. Which is the truth. If we drive them, we know it won’t be screwed up. Plus, we can easily take one or two down from behind as well. I saw Florence nod his head and knew that they agreed with us. Slowly I started to pace around the deer in a wide circle. When I was close enough to them, I glanced to make sure that Florence was ready, and he seemed to be. With a growl I leaped out at the deer and thankfully they charged straight for Florence. He immediately leaped out at them and easily took down six or seven while I took down two. We sat down next to each other as we caught our breath. I turned my head towards him and felt the bond form immediately. As I nuzzled into him, Wynter formed a mindlink again. I accept you as my mate, Casen. Why? Because you spent this time with me helping take care of my packmates. You also followed the directions. Florence is a sweet wolf. Thank you. Eden is a gorgeous wolf. Thank you. We should head back with all seven deer. Climbing to my paws I grabbed a couple deer and Florence grabbed a couple. Thankfully a few packmates were close by and came to help grab the other three deer. And together the five of us headed back to the pack.
