Larry Smith took a table on the restaurant’s deck overlooking the small harbor. Darkness blanketed the island; reflected dock lights glazed the still, black water. The pleasant smell of ocean mixed with that of the restaurant’s grill. Larry chose the table in the most poorly lit corner and snuffed out the candle wick floating in oil.
