“Thank you so much for coming,” Becca said as she hugged Zoey. “You look fantastic.”
Zoey’s face warmed. She’d followed Dex’s advice and was now dressed in a cotton floral-print blouse with long bishop sleeves tucked in the front into skinny jeans. Her hair was done up in a loose top-knot bun, and she’d even managed to dab a bit of lip gloss on her lips. “Thank you. I’m happy to be here,” she responded. “Here’s something for you.” She handed over the chocolate cake she’d bribed Miss Prissy to bake.
“This looks wonderful! The guys will be so happy about this,” she said as she accepted the cake. “Come on in. Everyone is already here.”
