Lisa's point of view.
It was unmistakably Benson, my very first true love.
I exhaled deeply, as I had never expected him in the sitting room alongside the Del Villa Del's family.
I looked at him; our eyes lurked together. He grabbed me, hugging me tightly.
"I have your back, Lisa, just as I've always been."
My eyes widened at these words as I muttered to myself.
"Would he ever forgive me and accept me back truly or was he just pulling these out so I don't feel so lonely and devastated." I say, my voice barely whispers.
"I pray he understands that I'm back, and I'm willing to make our union work."
"Lisa, take a hold of yourself, I still love you regardless of what happened; none was ever your fault and I know we can still be together."
I sobbed, my face down.
I quickly remembered how we started in the early days of our relationship. Benson is a cleaner. He works in the family mansion. I had always had a crush on him for a long time. Most of the time, I would see him in the guest room, where he would stay at the back of the family mansion. Gradually, I developed a soft spot for him. I couldn't tell what drew me to him, but one thing was sure: we loved ourselves for who we were and did our things closely away from numerous eyes until Don Frank came into the picture and brought our love story to a complete halt.
I had no choice but to leave Benson. I couldn't fight it, the company's alliances with my family. I couldn't fight for our love. I was just a poor orphan striving to survive.
I looked through his eyes, the love still evident; we were never separated. He held my hands, a sign of our true affection for each other.
"Enough already!" Bella snapped, standing to her feet.
"Benson, the last time I checked you were never invited to this meeting." She smacked, pointing towards Benson with her index finger.
"You both really need to know your place in this house and, as for you, Lisa, I detest you, you have proven to the family how nonchalant you are with the family company and most importantly how much of a snitch you are." She pointed, grabbing her bag to leave, her face stern.
"You!, let it ring in your head that you're just a cleaner, a mere cleaner." one of the cousins added.
"I'm willing to make her my wife!." Benson lets out an eruption of gasps, which fills the room; Bella's grip on the doorknob pauses instantly.
Bella turned to face them with clapping hands and a wicked grin.
"Wow! Interesting!" She mocked.
"It's definitely going to ring a bell, you know." Bella smirked.
"The divorced wife of Don Frank Martins Weds our All-time Cleaner, Benson."
An uproar of laughter erupts in the room. My face fell in shame as Benson cupped me from behind.
"So that's it now!" Grandma snapped.
"Instead of you thinking of what to do to salvage the situation, you are both busy displaying these silly acts of yours in front of me. I bet you don't know the gravity of what's at stake for the Del Villa Dels."
I swallowed hard, my heart pounding at every pace.
I knew things would get to this, but I never knew it would be now." I took a deep breath, Benson's grip strong around my waist- a sign he would never leave me; I knew for a fact!
With a huge force, the door yanked open, revealing the eldest son of Del Villa Del's family. He had just returned from Malaysia after hearing about the recent mess.
Without a word, he flung his bag to Benson; he dodged it, and its handle stroked on my wrist before falling off.
We separated our hands, my hands placed on my chest as the throbbing of my heart palpated.
He grabbed Benson, sending some series of bows at him. I tried to intervene. I fell to the ground, twisting my ankle.
The wide beast of the family finally spoke out.
" So both of you still have the gods to get back together and you! " He said, pointing his index finger at me.
"You pathetic, desperate w***e, you screwed up just because you want to be with your cleaner lover, right? Because I know you are very intentional about your love for him, even to the detriment of the family's company!" He blasts.
"Get out! I don't ever want to set my eyes on you two again, never!" His voice thundered. I sat on the floor, whimpering in pain as I watched Benson leap. We managed to get a hold of each other."
Finally, my grandpa opened his mouth to speak.
"No son, you shouldn't chase them out just like that, they could stay at the cottage at the back house." He ordered.
I watched Tayo, the so-called monster, throw a condescending look as he tried to maintain a cool demeanor, but the tension within him was still evident in his eyes and fist.
I looked at Benson, and he looked at me too.
Tears rolled down our eyes. Just as I opened mine, my sister, Ella, came in. A great shock plunged into her face as she opened her mouth in disbelief. Without saying a word, looking at how brutal Tayo was staring at us.
Ella slowly held me by the arm as her other hand traveled straight to Benson's waist, who was leaping, pain evident as we staggered along the walkway.
Third-person narrative.
As soon as Ella helped us sit at the cottage, she dashed out to confront Don Frank just as she promised. With cheer and determination, she skipped over the numerous traffic and vehicles, ready to confront the monster of a human.
Yanking his office door without knocking, anger sipping through her bones. She halted momentarily, startled to her bone marrow on seeing Don Frank.
"Frank!"
"Wait a second, you're the same Frank?" She asked, her face laced with surprise.
"Ella! Wow! What are you doing here, longest time?" He greeted.
Ella swallowed hard, trying to pick her words.
'Oh! I just returned from overseas, so I decided to see you; I've heard many things about this very Don Frank. I was curious, having had lots of Frank over the years." Ella stammered a mix of anger and surprise.
Ella's face fell to the ground as she still couldn't shake off the fact that she was before her very own Ex, right from college. This hits her and with her only sister, Lisa, in the picture, she's faced with two hot decisions to make at that spot: confront him or let things slide.
