# **Sunita’s Decision**

1215 Words
The cold morning breeze was flowing through the corridors of Koyal Mansion. The soft rays of the sun filtered in through the windows, but inside Sunita, there was a deep darkness. After a restless night of turning and tossing, she had made a decision—**There’s no point in running anymore. She had to face Vikram and talk to him.** As she stepped out of the room, she saw Vikram walking toward his car. He was holding his mobile phone and talking to someone, but the moment he saw Sunita, he ended the call. Sunita took a deep breath and steadied herself. **“Vikram,”** she said softly, but with a firm tone. Vikram stopped and looked at her. His eyes held the same coldness that was always there. **“I need to talk to you,”** Sunita said, a strange nervousness in her voice. Vikram gave a faint smile and twirled his car keys, **“Now?”** **“Yes, right now.”** He looked into her eyes, as if trying to read her thoughts. Then he nodded silently and went back inside without saying a word. ### **Facing the Truth** They sat across from each other in the drawing room. Sunita’s fingers were tightly interlocked, and her throat was dry. But she gathered her courage and came straight to the point. **“I know the truth about you, Vikram,”** she said slowly but clearly. For a moment, Vikram said nothing. Then he gave a faint smile. **“Truth?”** he repeated with a soft laugh, **“What truth, Sunita?”** Sunita’s breath quickened. **“Last night... I saw you. You killed that man. I saw everything with my own eyes.”** This time, Vikram’s smile widened. His face showed neither anger nor worry—just a strange sense of satisfaction. **“So my suspicion was right,”** he thought to himself. ### **Sunita’s Dilemma and Vikram’s Intentions** Silence filled the room. Sunita had expected Vikram to make excuses or maybe threaten her, but he did neither. He just kept looking at her, like a hunter watching his prey before the final move. **“Now that you know, what do you intend to do?”** Vikram asked quietly. Sunita had no answer. She herself didn’t know what she should do now. Vikram leaned forward, his voice calm yet firm. **“Fear can make you weak, Sunita. But if you act wisely, you might survive.”** Sunita’s heart was pounding loudly. **“Are you going to kill me?”** she asked, gathering all her courage. Vikram looked deep into her eyes and slowly smiled. **“If I had to kill you, I would have done it the moment I suspected you,”** he said in a chilling tone. Sunita felt as if her breath had stopped. **“When did you suspect me?”** she asked with a trembling voice. Vikram took a deep breath and said, **“When I found you unconscious last night, the fear on your face was evident. I realized you had seen something you weren’t supposed to.”** Sunita remained silent for a while, then gathered courage and asked, **“Can you tell me who you really are? You don’t seem like an ordinary person. What’s your real identity?”** ### **Layers of Mystery** Vikram remained silent for a few seconds, then laughed lightly. **“When even my own family doesn’t know my real identity, how can I tell you?”** Sunita was stunned. **“Even your family doesn’t know?”** Vikram nodded slowly and looked out the window, saying, **“Some things need to be hidden, Sunita. But I can tell you this much—those who were with me last night are part of my group. And I come from one of the top three families in India.”** Sunita was completely shocked. She sat down on the bed abruptly and thought—*“If he belongs to such a powerful family, why is he living in poverty? And why is he hiding his identity from everyone?”* She gently asked, **“If your family is that powerful, then why are you in this condition?”** Vikram looked at her, a faint glimmer in his eyes. **“Some battles must be fought alone, Sunita. Some truths are too dangerous to be shared with everyone.”** Once again, silence took over the room. But now a new question had formed in Sunita’s mind—**What truth is Vikram hiding?** Her eyes still held astonishment. She kept wondering why Vikram was hiding his true identity. But for Vikram, the conversation was over. He stood up without a word and walked out of the room. Sunita watched him go but couldn’t gather the strength to stop him. Vikram walked briskly toward his room, but as he opened the door, he stopped suddenly. Inside the room, Ritu was sitting, holding one of Vikram’s old photographs. She was looking at the picture with a smile and softly talking to herself. **“I wish you could understand how much I like you… even the coldness in your eyes draws me in… I know you’re not what the world sees you as…”** Vikram stood at the door, but Ritu hadn’t noticed him yet. He smiled and slowly walked up behind her. Then suddenly, he grabbed her tightly from behind. Ritu felt a strong grip around her and was about to scream when Vikram chuckled softly and whispered— **“You love me that much?”** Ritu’s heart started racing. She softly said, **“Vikram… you?”** Vikram brought his face close to her neck and whispered, **“Did you think I wouldn’t hear your sweet confessions?”** Ritu’s face turned red. She was nervous, but Vikram’s warmth was melting her. **“You… you heard me?”** she asked in a trembling voice. Vikram whispered in her ear, **“Every word.”** Ritu closed her eyes in embarrassment. She softly said, **“Now that you’ve heard it, what will you do?”** Vikram tightened his grip and said with a soft laugh, **“Thinking whether I should punish you… or reward you for those sweet words?”** Ritu’s heart was pounding so hard, she was sure Vikram could feel it. **“What kind of punishment?”** she asked, trembling. Vikram gently moved her hair aside and whispered near her neck, **“Maybe… pull you even closer?”** Ritu felt like her breath had stopped. But then she composed herself and smiled softly. **“If this is the punishment, then I’d love to commit this sin again and again.”** Vikram heard her words, and a soft smile appeared on his face. **“Then be ready… because you’ll be punished again and again.”** Now, where will Ritu and Vikram’s love story go? Does Ritu see him as a worthless man like everyone else, or is her perception different?
