Prologue

6 years. 6 years had passed after I left him.
I thought it wasn't a happy memory at all.
But I was wrong...
It was a wonderful memory, cause I also received a gift.
It was priceless.

"Mom!" that's my son.
He's smiling at me while showing some toys.
We're now at a supermarket to spend time with each other.
"Look! look at this mom!"he said with a wide smile. He's so charming.
"Mhm we'll buy those, anything you want?"I asked him cause I know he really loves cars and robots.
" I think it's enough for me"he pout while looking at the toys.
"Okay then let's head to the cashier then we'll go to other store"I said while reaching for his hand.
We went to the cashier and pay the stuffs we chose.
"Ouch" my son suddenly whine and I quickly turn my sight to him cause I'm fixing the stuffs we bought.
"I'm sorry kid" a man who bumped into my son spoke.
I lifted my gaze to the man who spoke that I wish I hadn't done.
"
I don't mean to be rude mister but I think you should look where your going and be more careful so no one would be hurt" my son formally said.
I saw a glint of amusement on the man in front of us as I stare at his amber eyes.

Copy sir" he even saluted at my son who's also staring at him.
My son just nodded at him and asked me to ho home I'm about to answer him but the man speak again.
"Long time no see 'Denise'" he even has the urge to greet me, just heck!
"Yeah it's been a long time 'Kein'" I sarcastically said back.
He then just let a laugh, a laugh that irritates me.
"Man you look exactly like me!" he happily said.
"Do I?" the man said
"Yes!" my son spoke again."Mommy look!" I let out a sigh before looking at my son who's pulling my shirt.
I slowly turn to him but my eyes froze to the man in front of us.
"A-Avery" the man spoke,looking surprised.
"You know my mom mister?" I turned my eyes to my son who's confused cause the man called my name.
"Ye-" he didn't finish what he was about to say when I cut him.
"No love maybe it's just a misunderstanding" I smiled and answered at my son who's looking at me right now.
"Oh okay" he answered,contented with my answer.
I faced the man in front of us then say" Mister I think you've been mistaken things I didn't know you and so do you maybe I'm just look alike of the Avery your saying"I smiled at him" If you'll excuse us" we we're about to leave when the man hold my arm I faced him irritated.
"Does he know about this?" he asked while directly looking in my eyes.
"Who's he?" I asked who's the 'he' was he talking about
"Don't play fool on me Avery you know what I'm saying" he's grip on my hand tightened.
"I don't know what your saying and let go of me!" I angrily said to him.I look at my son and I sigh in relieved cause he's busy playing with the toys we bought so he won't hear my conversation with this man.
"Just answer my question Avery!" he said with a high voice.
I was about to give him an annoyed look but my phone rang.
I look at it and saw Rilan's name. One of my close friend.
I glare at the man in front of me before answering the call.
"Hello" I answered
"[Hello Av I called because I was going to ask you for lunch before we head to the hospital]" Rilan said in a happy tone.
"Yeah sure just send me the name of the restaurant and we'll go there"
"[Wait we? Your with Alexander great! I'll fetch you both]" he sounded happy.
"Okay I'll send you where are we"
"[Okay see you!]"

I look down to my son when he pulled my shirt. "Is that tito Rilan?" he asked, excitement, that's the emotion you will see from him cause if there's Rilan there's new toys, play, road trips and many more. I always bring Xander to road trips, toys, and I also play with him but I guess Rilan is also his favorite I thought I'll be his only favorite but I guess it's a part of his growing up he's now 5 years old and really like to explore things.
"Yes and he said he will fetch us" I said to him.
"Yessss!" he shout in excitement.
"Okay just be quick" the man said in the phone. Oops forgot that he's still here I wonder who's he is talking to.
After a few minutes Rilan arrives then we greet each other and we're about to go inside the car when a girl suddenly hugged me so tight.
"Ate Averyyyy! she shouted.
"Hey who are you why are you hugging my momma!" Xander pulled me away from the girl.
"Ate Av" the girl spoke and a single tear fell from her eyes.
Emma.
"It's really you oh my gosh" she spoke again and now she's crying.
"Excuse me miss is there any problem? Why are you crying?" I act like I didn't know her.
"A-ate" she slowly walk towards me.
"Miss" I said when she's catching peoples attention.
She was about to hug me again but her phone rang.
"What do you need?" she answered the call then she go somewhere to talk who's on the line.
"Okay since we don't have anything to do here we'll excuse ourselves now" I said to the guy.
"Wait-" he didn't finished his sentence when we entered the car.
"Shall we get going?" Rilan ask and I nodded.
But before we leave my eyes suddenly focus on the guy Emma was talking to, yeah she's Emma the girl who hugged me a few minutes ago.
I only saw the back of the guy so I didn't identify who he is.
But the guy we encountered in the supermarket...
I know who he is and he's really acting like nothing happened.
He's Ethan Ken Cedrill, the father of my child and the guy who broke me into pieces.
I am Avery Denise Maddison and of course I'm hiding my kids from him cause I'm making his biggest regret.
