Chapter 8 - Jailing Saturday Afternoon, November 21st Mel glanced at the caller ID. Her mother again. She knew she needed her help getting the farmhouse ready for the annual Crane Thanksgiving bash, but she just didn’t have the time. She didn’t like working weekends any more than her deputies did, but it was part of the job. Sighing, she picked up the phone. “Sheriff Crane.” “Seriously, Melissa?
