Work had been the fastest that I think a day had gone by. Maybe it was the fact I was dreading what lay at the end of it. You know when you look forward to something so much that time seems to slow to almost a standstill? I think it was working the same way but in the opposite motion. I did not want the evening to come so it was coming even faster... And, no sooner had the school day ended, than Keira rushed through my classroom door with the biggest smile upon her face. I think it was easy to say she was not dreading the evening ahead...
“We have a date!” She exclaimed as she stepped through the classroom door, and did what could only be described as something close to what the kids called a happy dance. I shook my head in disbelief.
“Don’t you have a boyfriend you have dates with?”
