Getting back to the far end of the forest where the man-wolf had murdered Dr. Shaw and Dr. Hilbert had escaped, the wolf’s eyes opened and started becoming red again. Since the wolf was inactive for the whole day, he started to feel hungry at night.
But there was nothing that he could see. There was literally nothing like human blood since it was a dense forest with no human civilization whatsoever. The wolf craved only for the taste of human blood as its thick density satisfied him fully.
He started trotting and, as he still could not get a smell of a human body near him, he kept increasing the speed in frustration. It was getting harder for him to control his hunger, but he was not ready to compromise on what he wanted to eat. He started howling in hunger because he was seeking some kind of way out from there.
Soon enough he reached the main road which was on the other side of the forest. The biology laboratory where he was brought to life was at the opposite end of it which also had a highway passing from there as well. This part of the jungle where the wolf had been staying for twenty-three hours was in the middle of the two expressways.
At the moment he planned to cross the road in order to continue searching for food on the reverse of where he was currently, he heard a noise. Just when he turned to see what the noise was, he saw a light flashing. Two lights were becoming one after a distance, and it was coming closer to him. Trying to understand what it may be, he started to focus more on it so that he could understand it.
Maybe he was hoping to find a human, waiting for the light to get even more close. That would help him identify if there were any humans behind it. He did not have time to react to anything as it all happened in just a fraction of a second. Unknown of the ways since it had not even been a day that he was brought to life, something with a strong force rammed into him.
It pushed him severely. Without even realizing what must have hit him this badly that made him fall to the ground at a distance. The speed of the vehicle was such. The wolf was in tremendous pain, unable to move any single part of his body even though he was trying his best to do that as he could not be on the ground forever, and he had to lift his body up.
As he opened his eyes very slowly after he was made to fall down, he saw the vehicle which had three doors that were opening. Two doors in the front on either side and one at the back. Then, men stepped out from each of the doors which opened on their respective sides; they were getting down from the car.
All of the three men immediately got to the bonnet of their car. The wolf thought they were coming to save him. In his mind, he had compassion for them. He thought to himself not to harm any of the three men that were there in front of his half-open eyes despite the fact that he was very hungry. He could not hurt people who were helping him.
But as weird as it may sound, none of the three people came to check on the person or animal the car hit. All of them stood near the bonnet of their car to check for the damage the accident did to their stolen car. The wolf saw them standing with their backs towards him, and he did not even understand why such a material thing was given so much more attention than it was given to life.
The three retards were also unable to stand properly. Not for the reason that they were only tipsy but because they were completely soaked in whisky. After confirming that no major damage happened to the stolen car and that they could still make good money after selling it to someone they knew who changed the number plates illegally and got it to the market again, they turned around and finally saw the wolf.
As the creature was not really a wolf but a scientist who gave his body to his fellow scientists for an experiment. Even though it was a successful one, but because it was not planned very well, it cost Dr. Shaw his life. Because of DNA mixing, the creature resembled a man but was displaying the features of a wolf. That confused Bob, Ben and Buck.
Hesitant to walk near it because they could not call the forest control anyway, even if they wanted to make the department aware of an injured animal. Their drunk driving would have been questioned, and the more important thing to them was to be able to sell the car. Had the authorities been called to take care of this scenario, they would have definitely asked these people all kinds of questions. Questions enough to get them under serious offence, and they feared that.
So, they had a little conversation among them, and that could prove how inhumane these bastards were.
“What bizarre animal that is?” Bob asked the rest of the two.
“It looks very dangerous,” Ben replied.
Buck interrupted their conversation and said, “See! It’s alive. It’s breathing!”
“What shall we do?” Ben asked Bob because, according to him, Buck was a little more drunk than both of them.
“It’s alive. So, drive over it.”
Without opposing Bob for saying such a thing, the three scoundrels started to laugh. Ben and Buck followed Bob to the car, and they continued laughing as Bob started the car engine. Now the deal was to see if these crazy people would actually do what they said or whether someone’s human side would awaken. The sound of the car felt like a final countdown.. 3, 2, 1..
