CHAPTER 49 – ADMIT GUILT

1035 Words

“Does that question ring a bell?” Galtero questioned Buck as his face had become colorless at the first question that was asked by Galtero. It became obvious to Buck that he was going to be grilled about that night at the jungle where he had committed crimes one after the other. There was no stopping after a single one. The worst thing was that there was no guilt, no remorse. Nothing had been showing on his face so far.   Buck was not the kind of guy who stayed in touch with any kind of news. He lived each day as it came to him and did not carry the things of one day to the next. It was just the way he was, and he liked to take things one at a time. There was some talk about his friend, Ben, floating in the tenement, but he had been sleeping well until the cops showed up in his room.
