POV: Adeline 

******PARTY DAY******

The day is finally here, and I am very excited about it. I think the time away has helped me. I feel relaxed today. Oliver surprised me this morning with a jeweled headband, it lays perfectly in my hair reminding me of a tiara. 

My mom's beta female Sammy has done amazing with this party. My brother and I both love blue, he is dark and mine is a pastel blue, so the whole party outside has a perfect mixture of both. There are string lights that are hanging everywhere, and on the tables that have been set up, they have light-up roses. 

My brother and I transition into adults at 10 pm, which is the time that we both were born so to speak, first my brother and then me, our party will last until midnight. The whole pack will start to arrive at 6 to party and mingle. We aren’t supposed to arrive until 9:55. So everyone gets to have fun but for us… just kidding. I don’t mind, it just means I don’t have to rush or be worried today. My mom has been so emotional since I woke up at 8 this morning. I can only imagine when the party itself starts. 

I can’t help but smile when I think of my loving brother, he has always been so good to me, whoever his mate is she will be lucky.  

After what happened a few years ago, he never left my side. There was this guy named josh who shoved me into the side of my locker by accident and I cut my arm, my brother tackled him and beat him until his face was black and blue not to mention bloody.

Other than that it’s pretty much the little things, he gets me anything I want. Not that I don’t appreciate it, it just gets overbearing.

 For Example, Once he was bothering me so bad when I was having lunch at school, I had a crush on this guy Travis….and let's just say my brother was not happy. He just kept telling me all of these bad things about him and just wouldn’t stop. Finally, I had enough and pretended to go to the bathroom and come out in a panic. 

Hehe… I told him I was on my monthly and had nothing to fix it with, he took me to the store but I told him it was too bad to leave the car. He went in and come out looking pale. It was the funniest thing I’ve ever seen, and when I told him I was fine and wasn’t needing anything, he backed off. Needless to say, Adeline 1, Oliver 0. I wanted to call him a little b*tch but didn’t.

Anyway, so I am waiting in my room, until the party. This isn’t a hard thing to do for me, because I love to read. I have beautiful floor-to-ceiling bookcases that are white, surrounding a 60inch tv. This is a part of my room that has a seating area, there is a big fluffy blue couch and armchairs to match. I have a marble table in the center. 

In the far back to the right, my bathroom and walk-in closet are attached. I have a huge 3 person tub, and walk-in shower, with a huge vanity mirror. Everything was white and marbled, other than my towels, bath mat, and robe which are blue. My closet isn’t anything special other than I have an island, that keeps my jewelry and more storage.

 The left side of my room has a California King bed, wooden side tables, and Ottoman. I have plenty to do besides my bed I have a desk that has my paints, I started a new painting before I left, it was of the lake. I’m painting from memory, my nightmare that had happened out here in our lake. Well trying too, it’s a work in progress. I’ve been painting for hours now and I just realized that it’s now 6. 

My mom busted through the door saying something about me getting a shower. By the time, I come from the bathroom I noticed she is looking at my painting, with a look of horror and curiosity. Before she could ask about it, Vicki busted into my room with makeup and things to do my hair with. 

Vicki said,” WHOOOOOP, ITS YO BIRTHDAY, AYE AYE SHORTY, ITS YO BIRTHDAY QUEEN!” Then she took a bow. My Mom and I couldn’t hold it together we just fell over laughing, “ okay girls no playing let us get ready.” My mom said in her serious tone. By the time they were done, I didn’t look like me. 

My hair had been curled to perfection, it was pulled to the side with small baby blue flowers pinned in my hair. Then I had my Vintage white beaded Monroe-inspired dress we got in Paris. It was paired with simple blue pumps to match the flowers. I had my silver jeweled headband and the necklace that my brother had given to me for my birthday last year. I look down at my wrist and feel sad that I don’t have the matching bracelet. There isn’t much I can do now. It was 9:30 and the closer it gets the more nervous I feel. 

I head into the Hallway where I meet my brother, he has the biggest smile on his face. He takes me by the hand and calls me beautiful. We walk down the staircase and everyone cheers for us. I look around and spot Vic talking to Kami. 

I walked right towards them and I couldn’t help but sneak a peek at my brother who was talking to his friends, he kept looking over at kami. I know she noticed because her face was going bright red. I smirked and started asking them how the party was going so far. They both loved it which I couldn’t be happier about. 

We didn’t have much time until it started, I noticed a Few packs have started to arrive, most bringing their kids to see if we will be mated. I found none of them appealing, there was this one nasty-looking man, who smelled god awful. My father didn’t look happy he was here and pulled him into his office. I couldn’t get over that smell, like rotten eggs and a dumpster fire. 

It was almost time when my father come out and hugged me and whispered in my ear, “Happy Birthday Princess.” My mom walked around the corner looking concerned but Very happy, I can't explain it but okay, let’s do this. 

My Dad and my mom walked to the stagehand in hand, and started a long speech, 

“ Today we are here to Celebrate the Birthdays of Future Alpha Oliver, and Our Daughter who is also a Natural Born Alpha… Adeline. We are exceptionally happy to say this has been the best 18 years of our lives and we are looking forward to seeing our future grandchildren and Just seeing the adventures they will go on. Tonight they will meet their mates, tonight our Family will grow. Our Son will be the first, then just mare minutes after our daughter will claim hers. One Minute til, everyone is respectful and quiet, thank You!” My dad's voice boomed throughout the Courtyard. 

I couldn’t help but admire the love in their eyes, I want a love like that. I looked at my mom and her eyes light up with happiness looking off stage, my mom whispers something into my dad's ear, I got curious so looked and seen Alpha Eric and Hazel. They look quite happy tonight, Hazel noticed me looking and sent me a smile and a wink, and I sent her one back. That’s when I put my attention back to my brother who’s Blue eyes shined extremely bright. 

All of the Unmated Females stepped forward, my brother stuck his nose in the air and growled, letting everyone know his mate is near. He slowly walked through the line of girls until his eyes landed on Kami. HA, I KNEW IT. I just sent her a smirk and she Smiled brightly. 

My Brother went to her and held her hand and planted a kiss on her cheek, and whispered something in her ear that made her giggle. Everyone in the Pack cheered when they both held their entangled hands in the air. I couldn’t help but cheer with them. They both made their way to the stage and stood beside me. My brother said, “ it’s your turn little sis.” I got extremely nervous and walked to the center of the stage. 

My father's voice boomed, “Now time For Adeline to claim her mate, only a Minute away, Take your positions and Be quiet.”

This was all new to me, I wonder if my mate wants me as much as I want him, it’s time for me to push my fears of dying away and enjoy my future with my mate if he is here. 

I closed my eyes and opened them, my senses felt stronger than ever, the moonlight lit the courtyard, like something I’ve never seen before, it was almost magical, it felt unreal to me. I slowly made my way to the bottom of the stairs. I see all of the unmated male wolves had made their way to the front. I smelt the faintest smell of fresh rain and lavender, which is like heaven to me. I walk sticking my nose up, and my wolf howls, letting me know I am getting closer. 

I get to the end of the long line of unmated wolves and nothing. I turn around to do a second go before I walk back on stage then, something grabs my arm, or should I say, someone. Sparks light up my skin, it was like electricity dancing on my skin making every tiny little hair on my body stand on end.

 I turn around to see the most handsome man I have ever seen. He had neat short brown hair, stood about 6’11. Which made him a whole foot taller than me. He had on a black suit, and the white button-up shirt underneath clung to him like it was sown to his body, the top 3 buttons were undone exposing his beautiful tan skin under. He had the most beautiful Green eyes, which I can tell you now is my new favorite color.

 We both couldn’t help but take each other in. His hand slid down my arm and took my hand in his. I gave him my brightest smile, he leaned in and kissed my cheek, and whispered, “ I found you, finally. I won’t let you go I promise.” 

He put his free hand on my cheek and kissed my forehead. We finally hand in hand made our way back to the stage. I looked up and seen my mom crying happy tears, and my dad beamed with pride. My mate shook my dad's hand and introduced himself as Alpha Dayton Romano, of Gray Howls Pack, in Italy. 

That’s when I knew my life was gonna change, My mate is an Alpha in Italy, Now I will have to go be a Luna in Italy. This will no longer be my home. I’m not as sad as I thought I’d be, I look at my mate and realize he will be my new home, and I’m not scared. He makes me feel like I can do anything, we can do anything.
