A Sight to remember 

POV: Adeline 

The next morning I was abruptly awakened by Vicki laughing hysterically at sponge bob. I throw my pillow towards her and tell her to shut up but she turns to me after I smacked her with the pillow and just starts jumping up and down with excitement. She keeps yelling at me, “GET UP NOW.” I eventually give in and take a shower and get dressed. 

As we hit the town, I notice almost everyone here is Gorgeous. Then I remembered that is part of Paris is mostly pack members, but it’s mixed with normal humans and tourists. Wolf is naturally just beautiful.

My mom, Vicki, and I start hitting up stores on the main strip, we stopped at Boulevard Saint Germain, Rue Du Commerce, and last but not least before breakfast we stopped at Le Marais, they have cute vintage clothing and I found this elegant white beaded dress from the 70s to wear on my birthday. 

It gives you Monroe vibes but it seems to be more flattering and hits every curve of my body perfectly. I have to admit, I got my b**bs from my mom and they aren’t small. Thank you, momma. I was scared that it would look awkward with my size but no.

We stopped at this breakfast spot close to the Eiffel Tower. My heart just flutters at the sight of it. I’ve dreamed my whole life to see this work of art. I can’t believe my eyes as we make our way up. Once we are at the top I just feel complete, and I feel strong for the first time since I died three years ago. 

I know without a doubt in my mind even if I was 60, I will eventually come back here. I do believe this trip is what I needed. Being sheltered since my sixteenth birthday has made me feel weak, but not now. I still know in my heart, I am going to die, but I now have a newfound look apron the world.

I see the whole City of Paris from up here and I feel the energy from the city and I am taking in every bit of it. I never want to leave. My mom steps beside me and has a big smile on her face, and. Says, “ baby girl, you are glowing for the first time in years. I knew this would be an amazing trip for all of us.” 

I heard a whimper from behind me and it was Vicki. She looked pale. I guess my girl doesn’t like heights now. I wanted to laugh like she always does when we go to the mall cuz there is a giant glass elevator and the railing is glass too but I didn’t. “ Adeline why aren’t you scared! She huffs out” 

“ Girl I have to look over and down to see the ground, that’s why I’m not looking directly down.” I chuckled.

She finally calms down enough for us to take pictures. I’m sure my mom has sent my dad a thousand pictures by now. We were going to stay a bit longer but it started getting full and it looked like a hundred people were trying to fit up here at once. 

I’m sure I heard a growl somewhere and it gave me chills, but we started to make our way down anyway. It was hard trying to make our way down with so many people. We all were bumping into each other and it wasn’t an ideal situation. After making our way out, we headed to more stores and I might need another suitcase. 

It’s finally Wednesday, and my mom had to order more suitcases for all three of us, we practically all have new wardrobes. We were said to have dinner with Alpha Eric and Luna Hazel. So we spent the day getting our hair and nails done, not to mention the best massages of our life. I got a little blonde in my hair, I never thought about it before but I wanted something different.

By the time we are dressed and ready, it was 6 and we were in the car on our way to a Restaurant that is just 50 miles from their packhouse. We got to the restaurant and seen a cute gray-haired couple standing there looking at us with huge smiles on their faces. Even at the age of 60, they look fit and as they could model for a high-end brand. We all sit down and had a five-course meal. It was amazing. We all became quick friends. 

When we hit the third course, we almost have been here for two hours, Hazel finally explained her story in full when he cut the baby from her, the goon, he had damaged something and that’s why she can’t have children. I was blocking out some of it, not on purpose I was just horrified for her.

My mom sneaked off to secretly pay the bill and Vicki went to the bathroom, I quickly mind-linked her “tiny bladder.” And she flipped me off when no one was looking. I was Left with Eric and Hazel.

She put her hand on mine and it was as if she was reading me like a book. “ Sweetheart I can only imagine what you are going through, we had a long conversation with your dad and we know your story, not all of it but just enough. To make it through something too traumatic and make a good life for yourself is the only thing in life that you need to focus on, everything else will fall into place. You aren’t dying anytime soon so live your life like tomorrow will be your last.”

I didn’t know I was crying until I felt a tear hit my hand. “ All I could say was thank you, I had no other words for the beautiful couple.

My mom come back and started the conversation about Oliver and mines birthday. My mom ended up inviting them and their future alpha to our party. They happily accepted and it made me nervous for some reason. This isn’t anything new to invite other packs to any parties we may have, it just made me antsier and I couldn’t quite put my finger on why I was feeling this way.
