CHAPTER 2 - EYES OF A MONSTER

1124 Words
Amara woke up to a start, another day with the devil She laid on a four-poster bed covered in black silk sheets so soft and smooth, while covered with a very thick duvet. The duvet on top of her curved to the shape of her hips and her wrist were free now, though a faint red imprint circled around her wrist. Just then images of last night came flooding in, she stared at herself, the ropes were gone, stage light and the sound of gavel strikes all gone. She was now in a new and suffocating place, a place of silence and unnatural quiet that makes her heartbeat tremble. She blinked glancing at the room, gazed at herself noticing that she was all cleaned up, her lips glossed up and her hair brushed. Someone has redressed her in a black satin dress that clung to her thighs. The room around her was dark and plain, with high ceilings and marble floors. There were no windows, just floor-length mirrors and a single flickering candelabra that lit up the room. She sat up breathing heavily, her eyes lock up the door Just then, it opened He walked in like he owns the room Lucian Dante. Amara stared at him for a while. Still in the same tailored black suit from the auction, his jacket now off his sleeves rolled up to reveal his strong forearm inked with something mischievous. Tattoos were all over the arm, of which she couldn't understand. His gloves were gone, his gaze sharper now like a scalpel. He closed the door slightly behind him and leaned against him softly. “You were out longer than I expected,” he said. His voice calm but crisp “your vitals dropped slightly when you were brought to me, I had my physicians take a look. You are welcome”. Amara stared at him, her jaws clenched “Who the hell are you?” He smirked “You don't remember me again huhh, so quick, I am one you shouldn't forget in a hurry. The man who bought you for twenty million dollars”. “You remember now, don't you?” Lucien said leaving a smirk She narrowed her eyes “You think that makes me yours” Lucien leaving the door side while walking towards her slowly like a predator taking his time to catch it's prey. He reached the side table and poured a glass of wine. “Legally no” he said while offering her the glass “but contracts are overrated in my world. “You're here because you were owned by worse men than me”. She didn't take the wine, her hands trembled “I won't drink anything you give me” Lucien gave a smirk, his brow rising “Wise, but unnecessary, you have no choice”. He placed the wine on the nightstand “You're not here to die Amara, you're here to serve”. The sound of her name in his mouth made her flinch “How do you know my name?” He learned down slowly, eye-level with her now, his lips inches away from her ear. “I know everything about you, your full name, your ex-husband, your scars inside and out, and your worst fear of being invisible in a cage”. Amara jerked back “You don't know me”. Lucien smile turned sharp “I know you lied about being a virgin, I know you begged your ex not to lock you up in the basement again, and I know you tried to overdose at least once”. Amara was left in shock, he knew more than she expected. “How could someone know so much” She thought “You are not here because you are weak”, Lucien said, breaking her away from her thoughts. “You are here because you are fascinating, I don't keep pets, I collect puzzles”. He stood again, dominant “You will stay here for ninety days. During that time, you will follow three rules”. Amara sat still, said nothing “Rule one, Obey always without hesitation”. “Rule two, Never lie to me, if I catch you in a lie, I will punish you”. “Rule three, never touch the piano”. Her brow furrowed “Piano?” He chuckled “Yes, that's one is personal Amara stood from the bed suddenly, her fists clenched “I'm not your toy, or some damn science project and I won't be submissive to you”. Lucien watched her “Not yet” “I want to leave” Amara said Lucien laughed “You can't” “You think I will stay here like some chained b***h?” She questioned “Ooh no”, Lucien said stepping closer “I want you to fight, I want the flames. Because only then do I watch you burn”. He brushed a hand down her arm so lightly, that she could barely feel it. Amara slapped him His head turned with the impact, but he didn't retaliate, he simply smiled. “That's two punishments you now owe me, little flame”. She backed up, heart thudding “What will happen if I refuse everything” “You'll find out, but let me warn you, he said voice dropping defiance doesn't free you, it only makes you more creative”. He walked to the door “There are seven cameras in this house, if you manage to escape them, the guards at the gate have been instructed to shoot on sight”. You're a psychopath” Amara yelled Lucien paused, hand at the doorknob “Not quite, I'm just a man who is very good at getting what he wants” He opened the door and looked over to his shoulder “Welcome to your new home, Amara” “I hope you scream beautifully”. With that, he shut the door Amara dropped the untouched glass of wine on the floor And it shattered just like her hope She stared at the shattered piece on the floor then at the flickering candlelight, once again all her hope had been shattered like the pieces of glass on the floor. She stood for some while and slowly walked to the mirror And that's when she saw it A line of lipstick smeared around her neck that wasn't hers A faint print of a woman's hand on the mirror's corner And scrawled up at the very bottom of the glass, she walked slowly towards the writing And it was boldly written “RUN”.
