EIGHT YEARS AGO AT the Winter Olympics in Annecy, France, Katie Nowacki and Brendan Reid were the United States’ best hope at a figure skating medal. But amidst a short-lived romantic relationship, they lost spectacularly and split their partnership not long after returning home.

Four years ago, skating with other partners at the Winter Games in Stockholm, they fared even worse. This time when they returned home, they got back together — but only on the ice.

Now the Olympics are in Harbin, China. And it’s time for them to win.
