Sawyer raised his eyebrow at Elizabeth’s use of his name. It was something she did whenever she was particularly frustrated by him, and it made him think about what he had been saying and why it was so frustrating to her. He was amazed that she had learned so much about his ancestors without telling him, and that she seemed to be so accepting of the fact they were never going to be able to live the solitary life she would probably have chosen for them. She had seen how important it was for them to be around other people now even though he was still in denial about it, and she had been able to relate his behavior to the things she had read and to understand exactly why he was acting in certain ways without him having to explain it to her. “Elizabeth, I still can’t believe you did this.”
