Elizabeth waited patiently for Sawyer to return and she was pleasantly surprised when he opened the door a few minutes after he had left with Jonas. She had expected them to be gone for a long time, and she took it as a good sign that it hadn’t taken Jonas long to explain what was going on.
She smiled at Sawyer, grateful that she had chosen to stay in bed because Jonas had interrupted them and she was hoping he would want to continue where they had left off.
Her smile faded when she saw that he was not happy, and he collapsed down onto the bed beside her and stared up at the ceiling.
