Oh s**t.
Hunter stood up dusting himself off. “You know, I really wish you would have just killed me.”
Legacy backs up swallowing hard. What has she done? She had him and now he is going to kill her. She closed her eyes as he backed her against the wall.
“Just make it quick” she whispered in defeat.
His eyes dropped to her black hair that was shining in the moonlight. She looked so fragile now. Minutes ago she had him defeated but now she had just given up. Truth is he knew he couldn’t hurt her. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen and he couldn’t hurt her now if he tried. As a matter of fact he couldn’t even touch her because of the bond. After a long moment of silence he bent down to her ear almost making contact she could feel the electricity between them.
“I’m not going to hurt you.” He said calmly.
“Why?” Legacy looked up puzzled.
“I guess the same reason you couldn’t kill me. I owe you one.” He joked.
“I’m serious. Why can’t I kill you? Why can’t I touch you!? What game are you playing?!” She screams in frustration
“Listen you’re going to have to calm down if you want answers.” And just like that Hunter throws her over his shoulder like a child, sure to not touch her bare skin. He gently carried her to the bed sitting her down and he climbs up to sit next to her. “Have you ever heard of a mating bond? You know, like soulmates?”
Legacy shakes her head not following where he is going.
“Soulmates are when two people are destined to be together. Most of the time Night People only mate with other Night People. Werewolves with werewolves, vampires with vampires and so on. However lately the soulmate bond has grown strong between humans and Night People.” He explained
“So you mean humans are mating with Night People?!” Legacy spouted disgusted.
“Legacy WE are soulmates. That’s why we have the bond. That’s why you can’t hurt me. That’s why I can’t get you out of my head!” He shouted at her. For a moment everything was silent. Luna joined them on the bed.
Finally she broke the silence. “What kind of twisted game are you playing?”
Hunter was shocked. He turned flipping himself on top of her pinning her to the bed. “Listen here and listen good Human! I didn’t ask for this. In fact I should have killed
you the night I met you. I don’t like you, I love you.-“
His eyes met hers in shock. “I love a human.”
Legacy trembled underneath him. Hunter looked down staring at her before leaning in. She tensed up bracing here self for the worst. Oh God here it comes he’s going to actually hurt her! But what he did took her completely by shock. He pressed his lips against hers perfectly.
Fireworks wouldn’t even begin to explain the kiss. At first it hurt. Years of emotions flooded her brain. After a second it was all too perfect. She could smell his scent stronger and he was warm now which was odd because vampires are typically freezing. He felt, well human.
Wrapping his arms around her he pulled away from her lips.
“Are you okay?” He asked concerned
“I just found out I’m destined to be with a monster how do you think I’m doing?” Her words were worse than daggers. Only then did he realize how bad his shoulder hurt from the actual dagger.
He stood up off the bed in pain as he pulled his shirt up to look.
Legacy felt bad. “Oh God I did that!” she tensed up. “I’m sorry. Really. Let me help” she grabbed a first aid kit from the bathroom.
Hunter laughed “Kid, I don’t think your little human bandages are going to help right now.”
“I’m sorry I’ve never helped an injured vampire. Especially not one that I injured.” Hunter laughed again before pulling her close and leaning in pressing her forehead into his now bare chest.
“It’s going to be alright. I promise little human.”
