New War

“Come here you little! Ah-ha gotcha!” Legacy wrestled a bag of cookies until successfully catching the last cookie. Luna stared at her struggle “Don’t judge me cat.” It’s about one in the afternoon on a Friday. Legacy gets dressed for her weekend routine as normal. Tonight she wants to go out for a hunt. Regardless of her feelings for Hunter, she had a mission and she would kill anyone that got in the way. Of course now with the exception of Hunter. She lowered her head in shame. How could she continue killing vampires when the worst of them all was destined to be her soulmate?! *sigh* Legacy knew in her heart that some how she had to find a way to kill him. Or at bare minimum keep herself away from him. She grabbed her things and took off for work. “Thelson I’m telling you something is up with him!” In the passenger seat of the jet black Escalade Damien talks with Thelson who is driving. “I called him this morning wanting to set another trap for the hunter and he blew me off. It’s like he doesn’t even care now. If it wasn’t important why get me involved?” He huffs angrily “Look Damien, the boss wouldn’t appreciate you questioning him. Trust me he always has reason. Just be patient.” Thelson tried quickly to change the subject and started talking about the weather. Damien just sat back frustrated. He was basically a child. Changed at the early age of fifteen Damien never fully matured himself. He was changed in late 1942 in the middle of the war. His father had been overseas fighting the Nazis when his mother grew sick and died. Damien was left living on the streets. He grew sick and was on the brink of death when he was found by an old vampire woman who turned him and raised him as her own. Damien was a reckless boy and Thelson knew it. 80 years may be a long time for a human but vampires take several hundred to reach full maturity and control their impulses. Thelson on the other hand was older. Not as old as Hunter of course but he was turned in 1775 during the American Revolution. He was a soldier that was shot and badly injured. He was turned by another soldier in efforts to save him. He met Hunter in 1865 near the end of the Civil War, immediately becoming a close friend to Hunter. However both men always respected Hunter Redwood and his power. He could cause a war with the snap of his fingers. Hunter was a dark soul and created chaos wherever he went. Thelson couldn’t help but pity the poor human that he was choosing to involve himself with. However this turns out, it definitely wouldn’t be good for her. They reached the mansion of Hunter Redwood on the thought. Hunter had asked for a meeting with all of his close associates and fighters. No one knew what it was about but they had guessed it was something to do with the hunter. They all gathered one by one in a big room in the middle of the Hunters mansion. Soon after Hunter entered making the room fall completely silent. There were about twenty or so vampires, shapeshifters, and werewolves in the room. However none were female. Hunter had an obvious bias against females. “I’ve called you all hear today to discuss some very important news. As of last night, the witches have succeeded from the council. The Council has declared this an act of treason and will no longer stand for it. Any witches caught can be tortured and burned by Council law. Anyone hiding witches will be treated the same.” The room was filled with chaos. Voices began to shout “But wouldn’t this lead to a war with the humans?” “How would we hide killing witches in the streets?!” Hunter silenced the crowd. “The human reign is over. In three days on the full moon we will declare war on humanity and anyone that stands with them. Until then keep the peace and we will attack when least expected.” Again the crowd went into an uproar of questions. Damien was excited by the news while Thelson grew uncomfortable. Hunter slipped out the door and into his office. Thelson shortly followed behind him.
