The Forgiven

Finding her.

The last week had been a mess for Hunter. He did everything he could to dig up details on the woman from the club without Thelson finding out. The last thing he needed was the truth that he had let her go to be leaked to Damien. 

Hunter went back to the club only to find out she had not been there all week. However he was given a name. Legacy, Legacy Seales at 215 Bussell Hills APT homes number 6. After that he decided to dig through some public records. He already knew what had happened to her family, however he wanted details on her life. 

Turns out she moved to the city immediately after her parents death to live with an aunt. Her aunt died a few months later leaving her in and out of homes for the rest of her childhood. She aged out of the system at eighteen. She paid for everything in cash and hardly has left any foot print other than a few vet visits. As far as he knew she could already be gone.

Hunter decided it was time to pay her a visit.

Once he got to the apartment building he parked off of the street and went in. Finding the apartment wasn’t hard at all, neither was getting the building manager to let him in.

Hunter was devilishly handsome and could make any woman do as he asked. He was sharp dressed in an expensive suit and he looked perfect.

Once inside the apartment he knew it was hers. Her scent was everywhere and it was intoxicating. How could one human smell so good? He started his own tour of the house. When he entered the bedroom he was met by a small purring black cat.

“Well hello little one.” He pat her softly on the head.

Suddenly he heard the lock on the door twist. He ran to the doorway quickly to meet the human and catch her before she had time to get a weapon.

“Hello human.” He said knowing he had caught her off guard. She dropped the bags at her feet instantly. Glass shattered as the bags hit the hard floor.

“I was hoping you would come.” She said with a smile on her face. Had he really caught her off guard? Before he had a moment to think she threw a small wooden dagger from her jacket landing in his right shoulder.

“You are seriously going to regret that.” Hunter said as he shifted.

He was even more beautiful as he shifted. It was dark out by that time and the moonlight was shining into the apartment. He lunged towards her but Legacy jumped out of the way before he could make contact

A loud thud rang out as Hunter smacked into the wooden apartment door where she had been standing. He was clearly getting even more pissed that she wouldn’t submit.

“Stop fighting and I’ll make this quick.” He said fixing his suit.

“You think I’m just going to lie down and let you kill me?” Legacy scoffed.

Before he could reply she threw another dagger. This time missing him and piercing the wall. He lunged at her again however as she moved to dodge she tripped over the small cat that had made her way towards the commotion. He stood over her laughing. Legacy kicked up unexpectedly knocking his feet out from underneath him. Hunter hit the ground with a thump and Legacy was on him instantly holding a wooden dagger over his heart. She paused as he lay there still.

“Go ahead. Hesitation will get you killed.” He said with a smile. He had already shifted back into his human form. “I know when I’ve been beat and isn’t this what you wanted anyways? To kill the big bad vampires?”

“I-“ Legacy looked down at the stake and back to Hunter. Something pulled inside of her almost like heartbreak. She remembered the first night they had touched and how it made her heart race. He remained still underneath her as they sat in silence.

Do it dumbass he’s right here! She screamed in her mind. Suddenly his tone changed. He was sincere.

“Please finish this Legacy. If you can’t I will have to and I don’t know if I can.” His words made her heart sink. Did he actually care? He had came alone with no help, what if no one even knew he was here? She looked down at the beautiful man once again before dropping the stake and backing away with her head hung low.

“I can’t. I can’t kill you.”

Hunter sighed.

“Well I guess I will have to kill you then.”
