“What the hell was that?” Hunter sat puzzled.
Thelson still smiling ear to ear. “I don’t know but I liked it. I might get some ass and a snack tonight”
For some reason Thelsons statement bothered Hunter. At that time Damien approached the table.
“Hunter, a word please.” Damien asked
Hunter was happy to catch some fresh air. “Yeah. Let’s go somewhere private.”
They slipped down a long dark hall in the side of the club. Little did they know they were in earshot of the dressing room.
Legacy was alone fixing her makeup when she heard the men talking.
“Have you caught her yet?” Hunter asked irritated
“Sir, she’s a ghost. I’ve used every source I have and I’ve called in every favor. I have no leads.” Damien held his head in shame.
“Listen to me! You will find her and you will kill her or else I will kill YOU.”
“Sir I-“
Legacy walked softly towards the entrance of the dressing room to try to get a look at the men who were talking. About that time she accidentally bumped into a mannequin and knocked it over.
Hunter and Damien both froze turning to face the dressing room.
“Who’s in there?” Hunter asked softly
“Come on out” Damien followed.
Legacys first thought was to hide. Immediately she slipped into the back closet space and tucked herself behind the cabinet. Damien and Hunter came in and looked around.
“Probably just a rat. This place is disgusting anyways.” Damien said rolling his eyes.
“Yeah, you’re right. Now go find that hunter before I have the grand witch turn YOU into a rat.” Hunter said aggravated to Damien.
“Y-Yes boss.”
With that Damien left and Hunter stood alone in the dressing room. Legacy didn’t dare move a muscle. Footsteps came near the closet where Legacy was hidden.
“Come out of there now. We need to talk about what you heard.” Hunter said from right outside the closet.
“s**t” Legacy whispered under her breath
“Either you come out or I’m coming in.” He said impatiently.
Legacy came out of the closet and face to face with Hunter. She was covered in cobwebs and her curls were in a mess from hiding in the small closet.
“Obviously you heard something to make you run and hide. So tell me, what exactly did you hear?” Hunter asked examining Legacy.
I need to lie and quick! Legacy thought to herself
“I owe some money to one of the bouncers and I thought you were him. He’s been threatening me for a while now -“
“I see. And how much do you owe this bouncer?” He asked
“I don’t think it matters. I’m just glad you’re not him! I’ve got to finish getting dressed for my next hour, you can go out-“ she was cut off again by Hunter grabbing her wrist
“I don’t like being lied to girl.”
At that moment the whole world lit up like the forth of July. What was happening? It was like fireworks were going off right in front of her. It was him! Legacy had no idea how he had this much power but he was definitely trying to kill her. Her heart was beating so fast she almost forgot to breath. It felt as if she had be struck by lightening and the whole world around her began to faded out. After a moment she could make out the figure standing in front of her. It was Hunter. She began to remember what happened but the look on his face made her uneasy. He looked almost as bad as she did. His red hair was a mess and his eyes were in shock. He had let go of her wrist and she rubbed where he had held her. It had hurt. He grabbed her at the end of her sleeve right where her pale skin met the fabric and he held on so tight it was already bruising. He had backed her against the wall and was supporting her body while being extremely careful not to touch her again.
“W-who are you? How did you do that? Are you a witch?” Hunter asked desperate for an answer
“What are you talking about! You tried to kill me!” Legacy shoved him away falling to the ground in the process.
Hunter paused looking at the human. He tossed a band of hundred dollar bills at her feet.
“Pay off the bouncer and keep your mouth shut.”
With that he left her on the floor and walked out.
