Chapter Ninety Six

1584 Words

I knocked on Dorian’s door because I didn’t know where else to go. It was early. Too early for breakfast, too late to pretend I had slept. I had been walking the corridors for half an hour, and somehow my feet had brought me here; so I knocked. The door opened almost immediately and Dorian stood there looking perfectly composed except for the fact that he was shirtless, which he didn’t acknowledge, and behind him across the room Kieran was standing very still with his back to the door, his hair completely undone and falling loose around his shoulders, he too was wearing nothing but his trousers, studying the wall with the focused intensity of a man who had found something deeply fascinating about the stonework. Dorian stepped back from the door. “Rhea,” he said pleasantly. “Come in.”
