Chapter 21Denied Truths
Despite being in an obvious state of confusion, I manage to talk to the captured soldier. Without having to work too hard to convince him, the man shows us the way to the heart of the structure. He doesn't know exactly where what we're looking for is, but he tells us that if it's a very precious object, it's probably kept in the Scriptorium. The scriptorium, he points out, is a large room that is very well lit because of the many windows, where the amanuensis monks copied ancient texts, which is now used as a tactical centre and is located on the second floor.
"Let's try to hurry up and take him with us as a hostage. I don't know how much time we have before they disengage from the attack outside, but as soon as they do they're sure to send someone to stop us."
