"You work quick." We hear her utter. We look at her and are met with a pair of neutral eyes. A normal person wouldn't have noticed the slight bitterness in her voice, but we certainly did. And that slight bitterness just gave us a sliver of hope.
No one says anything important afterwards, just talking about homework or other things. Lunch ends soon afterwards and we're off to our next period. We're happy to know that Izzy's in this class with us.
