Unexpected move

"I won't hurt you " Romano said.

but elena kept looking at him with her wide innocent eyes.

"are you afraid of me?" Romano asked, not that commanding tone, not asking if she wants something but if she's afraid of him .

elena in her soft innocent voice said "mm..no" that answer was everything Romano wanted to hear. he was amazed not that she spoke , that she really talked back but the fact that she said she's not afraid of him, that was the first ever thing Romano Ever heard from someone, someone so small, so fragile but still isn't afraid of him, it surprised him, but it also made him happy somehow in a way he doesn't know yet. so instead he did something entirely unexpected, he patted her head with a nod .

and romano said to one of his servants "get her food" a pause then he said "make sure she eats Fully" and he left the room.

Even after elena wasn't afraid but still when he left her body relaxed , the tension easing from her shoulders,as she finally loosened her grip from the blanket.

And romano chose to handle his mafia business.

Romano said to his men"what the hell were you doing with her"

the man hesitated then spoke "her....her d..dad sold her to...to me"

Romano said "i don't care, she's mine, am i clear"

the man nodded

Romano said " how much??"

the man said "$50000"

oh exactly the debt he was supposed to pay me back (romano thought)

Then Romano spoke"I'll give you, don't you dare touch my girl again and as for his dad I'll deal with him myself"

The man bowed and Romano's men took him away.

elena said to the servant "when

..when will he be back?"

servant replied "I don't know madam, sir never tells anyone about anything he does"

elena said "is he always like that, so scary"

the servant said "um...sir is worse sometimes but..he was sweet with you.. it's rare...we never seen him like that"

elena was surprised and said "really"

the servant nodded and left the room leaving elena alone to think about romano, to think if he really was sweet with her, was she lucky that he's soft with her, or she's being used? she's not sure so would she not let him break her, she'll be strong.
