Chapter 3

Alexander’s POV I’ve been in my room since yesterday after the fight I had. When I woke up this morning I saw a moving truck outside my window in front of the house next door. No one had lived in that house ever since my two best friends from childhood had moved after the car accident where their parents died.  I never got to tell her that I loved her even though I was young I knew I loved her from the beginning. Ever since we were kids I would always find a way to make her smile even when her brother Max wouldn’t want to let her hangout with us at some points. I can still remember her smile and how’d she always hug me whenever I made her happy or whenever she needed me. Last time I saw them was at their parent’s funeral. I still remember that day as if it hadn’t happened ten years ago. That day it was pouring down rain and I was waiting for Alexia to get home from the hospital with her family. I haven’t moved from the window just waiting for her to get back. The phone started ringing. My mom walked into the room to pick it up but as soon as she answered the phone, she began to cry. I ran to her and asked what’s wrong. She just told me I had to be strong for what she was about to tell me. She told me Alexia was in a car accident with her family and her parents died and her and her brothers were at the hospital. As soon as she told me I asked her if we could go to the hospital so I could be with them. My father walked in at that moment and walked forward getting my mom in his arms while he said he would take us. We left my twin sister with our grandma on the way to the hospital.   Once we got there I raced towards the entrance of the hospital and my mom came running after me and once we got there she asked one of the doctors about her and her brothers. The doctors said she was in room 206 and her brothers were in room 208. I ran looking for her room, not caring who I ran into.  My mom kept calling my name while running behind me and apologizing to the people I ran into. As soon as I walked into her room I wanted to cry when I saw her. She looked as if she were dead. She was so pale and had scratches all over her. I saw the dried blood from the stitched up wounds. I walked up to her with caution and I placed my hand over hers so delicately as if I were to break her hand. I stayed with her until the doctor came in to check on her and I went to go visit her brothers while he checked her.  Her brothers weren't as badly hurt as she was. Her older brother only had a broken arm and her younger brother only had some scratches. After the doctor was done checking on her I walked back in and layed in bed with her and slept in the hospital all night long next to her.  The next day I woke up and she was awake. I got out of the bed and got her a glass of water. I asked her how she was feeling and if she was comfortable and all I got was silence. The whole time she was in the hospital I stayed by her side until she got discharged. And since that day, she still hasn’t said a word to anyone. My mom decided it’d be best to bring them to our house to stay until their aunt and uncle got to LA from Washington. While they stayed with us she hadn’t said a word to anyone I tried making her laugh or even smile but nothing seemed to work. She was always so sad and my mom would always take her wherever she needed to go. My mom told me not to take it personally but it was difficult what she went through and she just needed some time.  When her aunt and uncle finally got to LA they went back to living in their old house until the funeral. It was a cold rainy day and we were at the cemetery. She was wearing a black dress and she looked so beautiful that I just wished that I could make her smile. Once we got back from the cemetery my mom went over to their house and I followed her. I saw they were packing up their things into boxes and suitcases and I asked what they were doing. My mom came up to me and told me they were going to move in with their aunt and uncle. I couldn’t believe what she was telling me and I ran looking for her.  I found her in the backyard on the swing and I ran up to her. I told her she couldn’t leave me that I needed her and her brothers with me. That she should try and convince them to let her and her brothers stay with me and my family, but in the end all I got was silence. I wanted to cry at that very moment but I couldn’t infront of her. I ran back home and locked myself in my room and cried. My mom came and knocked on my door when they were about to leave but I didn’t come out. I stayed in my room and cried more. I looked out my window and saw them driving away and that was when I felt my world falling apart. I didn’t come out of my room until it was almost lunch time. Once I got downstairs my mom told me and my sisters that she invited the new neighbors next door over for dinner and that she’d need help cooking and cleaning. My sisters volunteered to help with cleaning which left me to help with the cooking. I can’t complain though. I actually enjoy cooking, especially with my mom. When she’s out working and I’m left with my sisters I always cook them something instead of ordering takeout. Once we were done cooking my mom told me to head up stairs and get ready. I showered and got dressed into a navy blue collar shirt with black jeans. Once I was done I headed towards my sisters’ room to see if they were ready. Right before I knocked I heard noises downstairs. It must have been the new neighbors so I knocked on my sister’s door and told them the neighbors were here. We were heading down stairs right when our mom called us downstairs. Once we got down stairs we saw the new neighbors. I looked at each and every single one of them until my eyes landed on her. Those grey eyes reminded me of her so much but it couldn’t be her she was living with her aunt and uncle in another state. It can’t be her.
