Sophia’s POV The shopping bags multiplied like they had a life of their own. At first, it had been one boutique. Then another. Then another. And somewhere between polished marble floors, soft Italian music floating through the air, and mirrors that seemed determined to flatter every angle, I lost count. The first store had been elegant. Soft gold lighting. Mannequins dressed like they were about to attend a private gala on a floating palace. Emily had dragged me straight to a rack of dresses. “Try this.” “No, this.” “Oh my God, THIS one.” I barely had time to protest before she shoved me into a fitting room. Outfit after outfit. A silky champagne dress that clung just right. A soft baby-blue gown that made my skin glow. A simple white sundress that made me look… effortless
