Sophia’s POV The night had stretched longer than any of us expected. By the time we were finally ready to leave Colton’s house, the mansion that had earlier felt so grand and intimidating now felt strangely familiar. The tension that Carmen had brought with her had faded hours ago, leaving behind a much softer atmosphere. Sean and Emily were still talking in the living room when Colton and I came downstairs. They were laughing again. Emily was sitting cross-legged on the couch while Sean leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees, telling another one of his animated stories. The moment they noticed us, Sean smirked. “Well, look who finally decided to rejoin society.” Emily raised an eyebrow. “That was fast.” I felt my cheeks warm immediately. Colton chuckled softly beside me.
