Sophia’s POV The quiet after my words settled heavily between us. Frank stared at me like the ground beneath his feet had shifted and he hadn’t quite figured out how to regain his balance. Three years ago, I would have crumbled under that look. Three years ago, seeing regret in his eyes would have been enough to undo every ounce of resolve I had. But not today. Not anymore.
