Three months had passed since that fateful night.
The scars on Alessandro’s body had healed completely, leaving only a faint mark over his ribs—a permanent reminder of the day he chose her life over his own. But the scars on his heart, the walls of ice and fear he had built over a lifetime… those were gone, melted away forever by the warmth of the love he had tried so hard to deny.
The mansion was no longer a cold, silent fortress. Now, it was filled with light, laughter, and life. The maids moved about with smiles on their faces, the halls smelled of fresh flowers and sweet scents, and the heavy, suffocating atmosphere of fear had been replaced by something soft and welcoming.
And the biggest change of all… was Alessandro himself.
He was still the leader of the Moretti family. He was still the most powerful, respected, and feared man in the country. His enemies still trembled at his name, and his allies still bowed to his authority. But now, there was no cruelty in his eyes, no coldness in his touch, no emptiness in his heart.
Everyone who saw him noticed it instantly. The Cold Mafia Boss was gone. In his place was a man who walked with purpose, with peace, and with a hand always resting protectively on the small of Bella’s back.
It was a beautiful Sunday morning, and they were standing together in the garden—the very same garden where Bella had first seen his vulnerability, where she had learned the truth about his pain and his past.
The sun was shining brightly, the flowers were blooming in full color, and the fountain in the center sparkled like liquid diamonds.
Alessandro stood behind her, his arms wrapped tightly around her waist, pulling her back against his chest. His chin rested on her shoulder, his warm breath fanning her neck, as they looked out over the paradise they had created.
"Do you remember the first day you arrived here?" Alessandro asked softly, his voice deep and rich, filled with love. "You stood in that hall, shaking, terrified, holding your small bag. And I told you… I told you I would never love you. I told you you were nothing but a possession."
Bella smiled, leaning back fully into his embrace, covering his hands with hers. "I remember. I thought I had been sold to a monster. I thought I would spend the rest of my life alone and cold."
Alessandro turned her around in his arms so she was facing him. His dark eyes, once so empty and cold, were now overflowing with emotion—devotion, adoration, and a love so deep it took her breath away every time she looked at him.
He lifted her hand to his lips and kissed the ring on her finger—a beautiful, heavy diamond that shone brighter than any star.
"I was the monster then," he admitted quietly, with a shake of his head. "Not because I was cruel or powerful… but because I was blind. I was stupid enough to believe that protecting my heart meant locking it away. I was foolish enough to think that being cold meant being strong."
He cupped her face gently, his thumbs caressing her cheeks.
"But you… you walked into my darkness with nothing but your kindness and your courage. You didn’t just save me, Bella. You rebuilt me. You taught me that the only thing worth having in this life is love. You taught me that being yours is the only strength I ever needed."
Bella looked up at him, her heart swelling with happiness. "And do you remember what I told you that day in the garden? I told you that you didn’t have to love me yet. I told you I would wait."
Alessandro laughed—a low, warm, beautiful sound that he had never made before her.
"And you waited so patiently," he whispered, leaning closer until their foreheads touched. "You waited through every cold word, every harsh rule, every time I pushed you away. You saw the worst parts of me—the fear, the grief, the anger, the scars—and you never left. You never stopped believing that there was something worth loving underneath."
He paused, his expression turning serious, intense, and incredibly tender.
"They all used to whisper about me. They called me The Cold Mafia Boss. They said I had no heart. They said I was incapable of feeling. They said… The Cold Mafia Boss never loved."
He smiled, a proud, triumphant smile that reached all the way to his eyes.
"But they were wrong. They were so terribly, completely wrong."
He pulled her even closer, wrapping his arms around her waist, holding her as if he wanted to merge their souls together.
"The Cold Mafia Boss loved you from the very first second he saw you walk through those doors. He loved you before he even knew what love was. He loved you so much that he was terrified of it. He loved you so much that he tried to hide it, deny it, and bury it… but love is stronger than fear. Stronger than pride. Stronger than walls of ice."
He lowered his head, his lips hovering just above hers, his voice dropping to a whisper that vibrated through her whole body.
"And now… now, I don’t just love you. I live for you. I breathe for you. I exist only for you. You are my wife, my savior, my queen, and my entire world. I will spend every single day of the rest of my life proving to you—and to the whole world—that I love you more than life itself."
Bella wrapped her arms around his neck, looking deep into the eyes of the man who had once been a stranger, then a monster, then a mystery… and was now her everything.
"You don’t have to prove it, Alessandro," she whispered, tears of joy shining in her eyes. "I know. I have always known. Even when you were shouting that you never loved me… your eyes, your hands, your actions… they were always telling me the truth."
Alessandro laughed softly, capturing her lips in a deep, passionate, all-consuming kiss. It was a kiss that held every promise, every apology, every memory, and every future they would ever share. It was a kiss that melted every remaining piece of ice, leaving nothing but pure, burning love.
Around them, the wind rustled through the trees, the birds sang, and the sun shone down on the man who had once been the coldest man alive.
The world might still call him the Cold Mafia Boss. It was his title, his legacy, his history.
But Bella knew the truth.
She knew that behind the name, behind the power, behind the scars and the darkness… was a heart that beat only for her. A heart that loved her more fiercely, more faithfully, and more completely than any heart had ever loved before.
He had said he never loved.
But that was just the beginning of the story.
The real story… the true story… was that he loved her, and only her, forever and always, until his last breath.
And beyond.
