Theoden and Wyn left the camp once out of sight Theoden touched hi cheek where Celaena had kissed him and thought of how soft her touch had been, the way she pressed against him as she whispered in his ear. Wyn came bounding up next to him "I do say, dear brother, you're falling in love!" he teased before skipping ahead. Theoden gave a small laugh and muttered "You may be right little brother." with that he picked up the pace catching up with his brother. Together they moved deeper into the forest, keeping their eyes open for prey.
Seeing a rabbit Wyn took a shot and missed by inches, picking up the arrow Theoden said "Can't get them all Wyn!" shooting his brother a dirty look "Like you could do better Theo!" jested Wyn. Moving even deeper into the forest they hoped to find more there, the trees grew thicker drowning out the midday sun. Hearing twigs snap up ahead Theoden put his fingers to his lips and motioned to his brother to split up with him, hiding in the bushes Theoden saw a deer, she was alone and unaware of the brothers. Suddenly an arrow flew from behind Theoden hitting the doe right in the eye, she let out one pitiful shriek and fell. Theoden went over to the deer, removed the arrow and knelt over her whispering, he then planted the seeds Celaena had given him and stood.
Back at camp Shael and Celaena sat together making flower crowns and giggling, while Arcaena sat alone under a tree staring off into the distance. Arcaena's memories of the hydra attack had fully returned by this point, suddenly moving she pulled a string of vines from the tree behind her, using it to tie her thick blonde curls into a tight ponytail. Celaena looked at Shael "I think I wish to marry Theoden." she said. Shael looked back at her with a bit of shock "Are you sure that's what you want?" she asked, Celaena nodded. Shael sighed "Then you need to tell your sister." both girls looked over at Arcaena. Suddenly they heard two tiny giggles from behind some roses startling them to their feet, causing Arcaena to come running over. A male and female fairy revealed themselves "Sorry for the fright dear elves." the female said. A beautiful water fairy in a blue-green dress that matched the color of her glowing wings, her male companion was a wood fairy dressed in green and brown with wings of glowing gold. They fluttered up to the elves "I am Lucky Lightvale, and this is Lella Woodcurl, we live in this flower field." the male said. Lella fluttered up excitedly "We haven't seen elf folk here in a very long time, so you can understand our excitement." she said.
Celaena giggled brightly and held out her hand for the fairies to land in. As they sat down in the palm of her hand she began to introduce herself and her friends "Don't forget about the boys." Shael said giggling. Celaena smiled "Of course, there's two male elves with us named Theoden and Wyn, they're brothers." she finished. The sun was beginning to set "Speaking of, they should be back soon. Celaena said, thinking out loud more than anything. Just as she finished her thought the bushes on the edge of the forest began to move. Huddling together Arcaena took the lead putting herself between the forest and the other girls. Suddenly Wyn came bounding out of the tree line laughing the entire way, Arcaena let out a loud sigh while Celaena and Shael giggled. Theoden shouted from inside the trees "A little help would be nice!" Celaena and Arcaena began walking his way as Wyn danced circles around Shael who was now holding the fairies "I hope you don't mind us staying the night here, it is your home after all." both fairies giggled brightly. Taking off from Shael's palm, both fairies began flying around using their magic.
As darkness fell over the field each rose began to glow beautifully lighting up the field. With so much magic around them and in the air the elves eyes began glowing as well, the red roses in Celaena's hair seemed to make her beautiful blood red eyes glow all the brighter to Theoden, reminding him of the festival before everything happened. He hadn't noticed he was staring until he saw Celaena's cheeks flushing as red as her eyes, he couldn't help but smile. Finally making his decision he made his way to her, taking her by the hand he lead her to the middle of the field. The others gathered around them, all five slowly began to realize what was happening. Usually elves were only exposed to this much magic twice a year, once at the spring festival and again at the fall festival, both had many traditions and meanings, but the one they shared was to join young elves to their life mates. As realization washed over the five Theoden and Celaena looked to Arcaena for her approval, her glowing purple eyes met her twin sisters red pair, giving a slight nod, Celaena turned back to Theoden. As the eldest Theoden was the only one who had taken part in a wedding ceremony before, he instructed the others on what they needed to do.
Taking both of Celaena's hands in his own, the others began to dance around them chanting in the old tongue, the fairies flew over head watching closely. Smiling at each other they raised their wands Lella gave each girl a beautiful glowing dress to match their eyes, while Lucky gave both boys matching green suits. Everything seemed to glow brighter as the ritual began. Theoden and Celaena began moving in unison, the air seemed heavy with magic as the chanting got louder. Reaching its apex, Celaena raised both her hands as small, bright red flames came from her palms. Theoden followed, moss green flames coming from his own palms, joining their hands red and green flames began to wrap around each other. Suddenly the flames grew to engulf both of them in a mix of bright green and red, completing their life bond. Slowly the flames died down as the elves parted their hands, followed by each of the elves eyes returning to normal. Towering over his new wife, Theoden looked to Celaena and extended his hand. Celaena's bright red eyes lit up, she smiled and took his hand allowing him to lead her away.
The sun rose over the flower field waking the five young elves, finding their traveling gear in their bags Shael suggested "Ee should keep these nice clothes, we may need them again." the others nodded in agreement. Separating to change before heading out Theoden and Celaena lead the way, with Arcaena in the middle, and Shael and Wyn bringing up the back. Celaena asked "So how far are we from the mountains?" Theoden raised an eyebrow "Less than a day, we should be at the base before dark. We'll camp there and climb in the morning." he said. Moving along a deer trail they were making great time, reaching the base of Mount Oseran by midday. Theoden called everyone together and said "We have a decision to make, it's a day's hike to Hagarum the dwarven city. We could camp here, or climb now." he proposed.
Wyn said in an unusually serious manner "This is a hard hike, especially once we get near Hagarum." Theoden shot a look at his brother and sighed. Celaena spoke next "Perhaps we should wait?" she asked, adding "It would be best to start fully rested." Arcaena jumped in "Plus we're already losing light just standing here." she said. Wyn looked at Shael who had not yet spoken "What do you think?" he asked her. Shael looked up "I-I'm with Celaena and Arcaena." she said shakily, Celaena placed her hand in Shael's to comfort her. Theoden said "Alright, it's decided then," taking off his pack and setting it down "We'll camp here tonight." he finished.
