Jay leaps to his feet, his eyes quickly scanning the room for threats.
“Is it the baby? Are you in labor? Did your water break?”
I can’t help but laugh. Tears of happiness stream down my cheeks.
“No, Handsome, I’m so sorry.”
It didn’t occur to me that suddenly screaming would have my ex-military man, freaking out. Especially given the proximity of my due date - two days!
“It’s this.” I hand Jay the envelope that just arrived by currier.
