Shannon stopped at the sliding doors to her patio and stared out at the yard, arms folded beneath her breasts. Pacing hadn't done her much good, and sitting doing nothing wasn't an option. She supposed she could go outside and let Owen explain to her where they were in the process, but she figured the more space she could put between them the better off she'd be. She watched two men walking her yard, one of them holding a sheet of paper and the other a box of something. Every few feet, they'd check the paper and one of them would place something from the box on the ground. Sensors, she supposed. She wasn't an i***t about security systems.
