Chapter 3-school band

It was a drowsy Wednesday my whole body felt limped,why? because I was up all night.im the type of person that when I put something in mind,I hardly get sleep and it was hard for me because I still have to come to school today so I decided to grab a cup of coffee on my way which helped a bit

It's Wednesday and it's social activities day.at my formal school I hardly go out for such activities though I got the fitness already and I got them from weight lifting in our garage also followed my dad once in a while to the gym.it usually don't like running up and down playing football or any other sports which I see them sweating proficiously stinking of sweat.i always sat in the class alone writing my novels listening to cool music with my headset as I wrote,but this time it's gonna be different because I've decided to check out the school's band since I got invited and recommended by the principal, what can I say? I have to show them a bit of my talent I thought to myself.

I kept all my stuff in the locker,went to the boys changing room which got me irritated a bit.the changing room was neat though but some dudes don't know how to be well kept throwing their stuffs wherever they like.i quickly changed into my activity wear which is compulsory as I read in the school's rule book during my sleepless rough night and I tried finding my way to the band but on my way I saw this girl from my class carrying a saxophone bag and I I was so glad I did because I was already loosing my way it was my first time "...... hey excuse me please..hey!......" as I walked up fast to meet her and she stopped on her tracks".....hi" she finally answered as she waved her hand at me indicating I got her attention,and she continued as I met up with her".... you're the new guy in our class right? I wasn't in school yesterday but I got informed in the school's group chat that there is a new guy,I'm Gloria....". "I'm Raphael I see you are also in the school's band" trying to prolong the conversation I had to ask even though it's obvious "yeah as you can see I play the saxophone autosax to be precise,what do you play?" she asked making a guessing face which was kinda cute,"actually I play the keyboard,drum and bass guitar but I'm still learning though" i said trying to flow in the moment then I noticed she was looking at my fingers as if she was trying to know the amount of fingers I have, maybe to her I was an alien lols just joking but she was though "what is it? do I have something on me?" I was looking over me as if looking for a bug or something in a dramatic way that made her laugh"you said you are still learning right? but I Know you are lying from the looks of your fingers you are a good keyboardist and a bass guitarist for the druming part we will find out soon you can say that to others but not me okay?" I was stunned she is really good.

we finally got to the school's hall where the three guys and two girls where playing some jams wow they are good they really know what they are doing. Edwin was among the guys so he was first to meet me"I thought you won't show up but welcome though" then the remaining two guys the same height with me both fair in complexion with the type of hair style that gives out the vibes of yeah I'm in a band came walking towards me the one at the front with the serious face as if he had the whole world on his shoulders came first"so you are the new guy huh? what's your name?" in my mind I was like wow I didn't know I had to go through an interview before getting in the the school's band which I had no interest on from the start,this gonna be the longest two hours of my life.as I was about to speak because for me your face isn't my problem so please take that mask off,the second guy spoke up from behind him holding a paper "it says here that his name is Raphael and has multiple talents,plays the keyboard,drums and bass guitar I guess!".

"..is that so? does he really have the talent or just knows how to hit some buttons and claims to know how?" the first guy added with him dipping both hands in his trouser's pockets,I took a look at the direction where Gloria was sitting with the other two girls having a silent conversation as if they had nothing to do with what was going on here and looked at Edwin who have been staring at me since like he wanted me to do something then I let out a cold smile displaying a tiny bit of the aura that I carry at my formal school they knew me to me the cold friendly calm guy but since my mom decided to change my school transferring me to MAWT i decided to change my way and put on the open calm friendly character,so I spoke up"why don't you let me show you what I got instead of exchanging words I let my fingers do the talking " the girls who were pretending not to know what was going on suddenly became interested coming closer"...ok which of the three instruments would you be using?" Edwin ask withdrawing his gaze and moving towards where the instruments are "....let's start with the bass guitar please..." deep within me I was feeling like bursting their bobbles a bit not that I want to show off just was to be polite .I picked up the guitar and one the girls played a 7:4 loop which was one of my favorite beats, Immediately I started rocking the guitar their jaws dropped they kept staring I noticed but felt unconcerned till I finished and the first guy who kept a serious face earlier was all smiling in an amazed expression spoke up with both hands on his head "woooooooo.... it's all true this guy is so good like amazing I bet this year the whole school will be shocked .I'm Michael and this is Daniel sorry about earlier we were just playing with you and this is feggy and flora" he introduced the girls who walked towards us still surprised.feggy was the same height with Jesse fair in complexion with a slender shape on the other hand flora is the same height just a bit taller dark skin like mine with a sharp face nice voice and a nice shape "hi" they both said and I smiled "welcome to the band and please we are coming back for practice on Friday just need to get somethings ready welcome once again" Michael concluded and the rest welcome me and we had some chats and exchanged numbers and I went out to change so I can go see someone before going (Tracy) but before I could see her she was entering the car with mom she looked back as if she was expecting to see me and waved goodbye with a smile that melted my heart and they drove off and my mom was already there to pick me up.
