The call

Daniella’s POV

I picked up my phone after watching it ring for a while. Getting this call is something I least expected. I immediately got tensed, my hands trembling and my legs shaky. I held my breath before answering the call.

“Hello” I said it a low tone.

“Hi Daniella, it’s Stef” the voice on the other end of the line said, low yet cocky.

“I know, what do you want from me? I asked impatiently.

“Calm down Danny. I was just hoping we could grab a drink sometime” he said in a commanding tone.

“I don’t want to grab a drink with you” I said, hanging up immediately.

He called several more times but I only watched it ring. Many questions ran through my mind all at once.

I got another call, but this time it was from Gary.

“Did you get home safely?” he asked as soon as I answered the phone.

For a split second, I thought he was my husband and was being protective. I smiled while taking off my socks and laying on my bed.

“Yes, I did. Thanks for checking” i answered.

We talked for a few more minutes and I enjoyed our conversation.

“Oh, we have to go to the cosmetic company the day after tomorrow” I told him before hanging up.

Still a bit shaken, I ran into the bath to relieve my stress and ease my tension.

“Why did he call? What does he want from me?” Questions ran through my mind but I brushed them aside to live in the moment. I fell asleep thinking about it.

“Ughh, who could this be so early?” I said, tears almost rolling out. I looked at my phone screen, it was my secretary and I overslept.

“Miss Daniella, your fiancé is here to see you. He said he lost his phone and couldn’t reach you” she said.

I didn’t wait for her to finish talking before I ran into the bathroom.

“Why is he there? Why can’t he let me breathe?” I questioned myself, not hoping for an answer obviously.

I got out of the bath quickly, walked to the dresser and started applying an amount of makeup I don’t wear everyday. It dawned on me, I was trying to look good for him.

“What the f**k am I doing?” I stopped, wiped off the excess makeup, got dressed and headed out immediately.

“Hello Danny” he reached out with a smile, pulling me in and kissing my forehead.

I cringed so hard.

“Can this say please end? I cried inside me.

“I have a surprise for you, close your eyes” he said with a grin.

He brought whatever it was out. I looked at it and I was in utter shock.

“What?” I barked at him.

“What the f**k is this?”
