Chapter 2 I Don\'t Want To Apologize

637 Words
Benjamin's class teacher liked him very much. Therefore, before Jocelyn took Benjamin away, the teacher advised her specifically, "Whenever Benjamin fought with others, I would comfort both children's parents. However, Mason's father is a senior official and his mother is very oppressive. Tomorrow, Mason's parents will come to school in person. You should be careful and ask Benjamin to apologize to Mason." Jocelyn glanced at Miss Wood gratefully, "Thank you, Miss Wood." On the way back, Jocelyn asked Benjamin why he fought, but Benjamin didn't say a word. Jocelyn bent down and said, "You have always been obedient. Why must you always get into fights in kindergarten? Do you know this will affect me?" "Jocey, I'm sorry," Benjamin's voice was very soft. He was accustomed to calling his mother by this affectionate nickname. Jocelyn patted Benjamin's head and said, "Promise me that you will apologize to Mason tomorrow. Okay?" "I won't apologize to him!" Benjamin was irritated all of a sudden. Jocelyn persuaded him for a long time, but his attitude remained the same. Finally, he even uttered, "I won't apologize to Mason even if I die!" Jocelyn sighed heavily and said, "Why are you behaving so unreasonably? You were the one who hit him first, let alone..." Let alone Mason's father was a senior official... However, Jocelyn didn't say it out loud in the end. Benjamin was still too young to understand this. However, she knew that as a woman in the lowest class of society in North City, it was extremely difficult for her to bring up a child. Thus, she tolerated many grievances, and let bygones be bygones as much as she could. However, she didn't want to expose her son to such harsh realities. Jocelyn stood up and said, "You are always getting into fights with the other children at kindergarten. I'm so disappointed in you." After that, Jocelyn walked forward. However, Benjamin didn't follow her. He stared at Jocelyn's figure and his eyes turned red gradually. After a while, he shouted suddenly, "They always call me a b*stard. They say I am a b*stard son without a father!" He didn't want to fight either. Benjamin knew that Jocey had been working very hard. Jocey had to go to work to raise him. She had to pay for his tuition fee and buy food for him as well. These cost a lot of money. Jocey went to work very early every day and came back home late. He didn't want Jocey to worry about him. However, he could endure everything except for those people's insults, saying that he was a b*stard son with no father. It was because he really didn't have a father. Jocelyn froze and the blood in her body seemed to rush to her brain. She felt faint. Jocelyn's legs went a little weak and she nearly stumbled backward. However, she didn't fall to the ground. There was a little body supporting her from behind. Benjamin choked, "It's my fault. I shouldn't have said that." He knew that his mother must be very sad. Jocelyn crouched down and hugged Benjamin. For the past four years, she had led a hard life raising her child. However, no matter how hard it was, she had been biting the bullet and went through everything with grit. Yet, her tears couldn't help rolling down. "Benjamin, I've done you wrong. I'm the one at fault," Jocelyn hugged Benjamin tightly and choked. She got pregnant after that ridiculous one-night stand. Initially, she didn't want to keep the baby. However, when she reached the operating room, she couldn't bear to do so. Her baby was a precious life after all. But she didn't think about how her child would have no father in the future... Without a father, the child would suffer from endless ridicule from society!
