Chapter 4 I Want Benjamin To Kneel Down And Apologize

717 Words
Jocelyn brought Benjamin to kindergarten. Mason's parents would be there as well. Jocelyn held Benjamin's hand as they walked to the kindergarten's administrative office. After waiting for a while, a strong smell of perfume appeared in the air. Accompanied by the strong perfume, Mason and his parents entered the office. Mason's mother was dressed seductively, while Mason's father had a potbelly and a few strands of hair on his bald head. He looked very much like a politician. Both adults held their heads high and even their child, Mason acted in the same smug way. As soon as he entered the office, Mason pointed to Benjamin and said, "Mommy, Daddy, he's the one who hit me!" Benjamin stood behind Jocelyn, keeping silent. On their way to the kindergarten, Jocelyn deliberately told him that if he didn't want to apologize, he should keep silent. Mason's mother glanced at Jocelyn and Benjamin disdainfully. Both of them were dressed in ordinary clothes. It was obvious that they were from the bottom-class of the society. Mason's mother didn't care about such lowly people at all. At this time, Jocelyn spoke, "Mr. and Mrs. Clark, I'm really sorry that my son had hit your child. I apologize to you on behalf of Benjamin." Her tone was extremely sincere. However, Mason's mother was very domineering, "What's the use of apologizing? My husband, Carson is a well-known person in North City, and yet his son was beaten up. How could you just apologize like this?" Jocelyn still remained polite, "If Mason is injured and has to go to the hospital for a check-up, I will pay for all the medical expenses and also extra compensation." Mason's mother sneered. She looked at Jocelyn disdainfully, "Compensation? How much compensation can a poor family like you afford to give? Your monthly living expenses are even less than the price of the clothes I wear!" Humiliation flashed across Jocelyn's face, but she still held herself up high. "What do you want then, Mrs. Clark?" she asked. Mrs. Clark glanced at Mason and asked, "Mason, what do you want?" The day before, Mason said that he had been beaten up by Benjamin, but in fact, he was not injured at all. This time, the Clarks had come here to vent the anger on behalf of their son as as they had always spoiled their son. Mason pointed at Benjamin and said, "I want him to kneel down and apologize to me!" Mason had disliked Benjamin for a long time, because all the girls in the class liked to play with Benjamin and said that Benjamin was good-looking! Benjamin clenched his fists tightly and stared at Mason with his reddened eyes. Mason looked at Benjamin provocatively. Mrs. Clark said slowly to Jocelyn, "Did you hear that? Ask your son to kneel down and apologize. I will let this matter off then." "I won't do that. He scolded me first. Why should I kneel down and apologize?" Benjamin couldn't help shouting. Mrs. Clark chuckled and said, "Madam Marshall, you are working at the JS Shopping Mall, right? It turns out that Carson is familiar with your boss. If your boss finds out that your son hit my son, I can guarantee that you will be fired today." Mrs. Clark was so arrogant. Of course she had investigated Jocelyn beforehand. Jocelyn's face turned pale. At the same time, Benjamin's heart tightened. If he didn't kneel down and apologize, would his mother be fired? Benjamin rushed to the front suddenly and said, "I... I'll apologize!" Mason smiled smugly and said, "Hurry up then. Kneel down and apologize!" Benjamin said clearly word by word, "I'll apologize, but I won't kneel down. My mother told me not to kneel down to others easily!" At the entrance of the office, a tall and handsome man was about to push the door open and enter. He heard a child's voice. "My mother told me not to kneel down to others easily!" The man stopped, and his eyes were so dark that his feelings were well-concealed. "Benjamin," Jocelyn pulled Benjamin back behind her. She stood up straight and looked at Mason's mother in the eye, "I initially wanted to apologize to you together with my son, but now I regret it. You don't deserve our apology at all!"
