Chapter 20

Kat

I ran to Arkyn as fast as I could when I saw him doubling over in pain. My first thought went to someone that shot him, but then we would have heard a gunshot and my ears didn't pick up anything. He fell to his knees as a blue glow came from his body. We grabbed him right before he hit the ground.

He explained what was going on as the glow surrounding his body started to burn brighter, enough for me to cover my eyes a bit.

"Storm", Dante and I said in unison, looking at each other.

"She has to be nearby. What the f**k do you think is happening to Arkyn?" I look down at Arkyn and he is now unconscious in my arms, yet the blue glow that appeared was still around his body.

"There!!" Dante pointed to one of the green shipping crates. I look up from the ground where I am holding Arkyn in my arms. The same blue glow that was around Arkyn was surrounding the crate.

My body freezes in the spot as I feel power coming from whatever it is.

"Goddess, what is happening? Here, babe, take Arkyn." I shift my focus back to him, letting Dante take him over from me. I can feel immense power coing from the crate. From the forest, Luca and his team is emerging.

"Luca, come over here." He and the rest of the guys ran over using their wolf speed.

"Beta, what happened? And what is that blue glow?"

"Take Arkyn to the car and lay him down. Call the rest of the teams. I know I said they should go home, but I don't know what we are walking into. We need all hands on deck with this. We will also need a few pack cars to go home. " I listen to any sounds around us, but it is silent except for our breathing and the sound of the waves crashing along the ships

"And don't shift. If there are any cameras or human's around, we can't risk them seeing us.

"Yes Beta. Right away. Any news on Abby?" He takes Arkyn from Dante and start stepping away.

"Nothing. We can't mind link her either, so best guess is that she is passed out, either by drugs or Storm is letting her sleep.

"If I find whoever has her, I will torture him so badly that he will beg for me to end his life as soon as possible" He whispers to me before stepping to the car.

"I want a shot at him too. Remember ranked members has first choice of what weapons they want. Meet us at that container and leave a guard with Arkyn. I don't want him alone. We are going there first to clear the area. Too much people will attract more attention than we want. Me and Dante can hide easier. We will link when it is safe to do so.

Me and Dante start walking away from Luca. We were a few feet away when we hear a hard grunt and thud, causing me to lift my weapon and swiftly turning around, pointing to where the sound comes from.

We see Arkyn standing up from the ground, the blue glow still surrounding him. Rushing over, I hug him and quickly assess for any damages to make sure my eyes aren't deceiving me.

"Hey are you okay? You were out for a few minutes."

"Abby. We need to get to Abby. I can feel something is happening. Something is wrong with my powers." He looked at me with an urgency in his words. He stood up, dusted himself off, and took off towards the shipping containers.

We ran after him, making sure no one gets in his way. Keeping my weapon up as we entered the area, I let my eyes and ears do the work as I check the corners we turn in the dark.

My body is compelling me to go towards the glow.

Shadow, you feel that?

Let's go get our Luna.

I feel her hackles standing up in a fight mode. I smile to her, knowing we are close to our Luna. My mind over analyzes the million things that coud have been done to her. Is she okay? Did she get hurt? Who kidnapped her straight from the packhouse?

I prayed to the moon goddess that she was safe and unharmed.

We came from a corner just as the container doors burst open with such force it sent the two men that was about to open it, flying about forty feet into the air. The pressure of the doors burst over with massive force and I recognized the power of Storm from within.

Never in my life have I seen such power coming from a wolf spirit.

We need to act fast and we need to act now.

Alpha, Beta, go catch them. alive!!

We all took off into different directions. Mine was heading straight for the container, hoping to see what I want. The blue glow vanished as the doors were opened and what I saw next made my heart break into a million pieces. Just because we have done training for this doesn't mean you are ready for what you see every time.

My eyes are covered in the tears as I see thirty girls in various states of abuse, all hovering over someone on the floor.

I completely break down and fall on my knees as they all move over and I see Abby on the floor.

I released the breath I knew I was holding in the moment we started searching for her.

Just then Dante and Arkyn ran in and saw what I am seeing. Arkyn runs and scoops Abby up in his arms, cradling her close to him while Dante bent down and rubbed my back.

The girls stood in fear, looking at us like they were expecting to be hit, until one girl stepped forward and hugged me

"Hey girls. My name is Kat," I spoke as gentle and softly as I could muster through my scratchy throat and burning eyes. "Can someone tell me what happened here?"

"She saved us. She opened the doors" The one hugging me pointed to Abby as she held on to my arm.

"Let's get the police here. I am sure your parents are wondering where you are. You know those two bad men?" I spoke to the group

who were all now more relaxed and clinging onto each other. "They will never hurt you again."

The tears started streaming once more as they all cheered and cried, hugging each other with the weak smiles they could do in the moment. Standing up and taking Dante's hand in mine, I walk over to Arkyn. I look over at Abby in Arkyn's arms. Her eyes are swollen and she has a few blue bruises. I noticed her wrists were bruised from the restraints these assholes used, and there was a puncture mark from a needle on her neck.

"I want to get her to the pack hospital as quick as possible." He looked down at her bruised face, and I saw his jaw clench out of pure anger.

"How is she?" I brush the hair away from her shoulder where a red mark catches my eye. Whoever had her grabbed her extremely hard by the shoulders.

"The men?"

"Babe, we subdued them. I already told the warriors to transport them to the dungeons and string them up while they are knocked out from the blast. We want to give them a very warm welocome when they finally decide to wake up."

Dante and Arkyn smirked at each other, knowing full well what their type of warm welcome is. Let's just say there won't be any tea or cookies waiting for them.

"I want a part of that welcome too. They hurt her, and we need to keep them alive long enough till Abby wakes up. I know for a fact that she doesn't want to miss out on the fun, and confronting the men who did this to her, and them" I nod towards the girls

"We were thinking about questioning them anyway, and we need her since she is the CEO after all."

"Arkyn, take a pack car and head to the hospital. We will meet you there. We need to speak to the police first and make sure these girls get home safe."

I side hugged him and watched as he walked away with a weak smile with his mate in his arms.

Luca, come to the last container. Tell the team to call hospitals and tell them we need busses, then call the police on the way here.

Yes Beta. Abby?

She is safe in Arkyn's arms.

Good.

I cut off the link I opened to Luca, but I thought I heard a growl coming through as I mentioned Arkyn's name. Hmm, weird.

"I am Tiana, and these are my friends." She introduced each one of her friends as they came to hug me.

"We can't thank everyone enough. We don't know what we would have done without Abby and the rest of you. Who knows what would have happened if you guys didn't appear here when you did."

"I am sure Abby would have done all she can to save you can. She is very brave for holding out as long as she did"

I smiled at them as I heard ambulances pull up to the container. Leading them out to it, a hand waves at me and I recognize Detective Mali from the FBI.

We have been working with him for a few years on cases when they need info and taking out of human and drug trafficking rings.It also helps that he is a werewolf himself, but without a pack.

"Hallo Beta. I am glad to see you guys here" He stepped towards me, extending his hand, looking very uncomfortable as he caught sight of Dante's mark on my neck.

"What is it with this handshake crap Mali?" I gave him a raised brow. "How are you?" I gave him a hug and Dante let out a low growl, making the detective jump back a little bit. I guess an Alpha's growl would do something like that to you if you are a lone wolf.

"Oh for f***s sake! Would you calm down? Mali is a friend by now. He should be as we have work with him and his teams for years now. And Mali, this is my mate, Dante. Now that that is out of the way, let's discuss what happened here."

"By the sight of this, not good, as you can see."

He looked around and saw where the girls were being held captive, his face turned into a confused one.

"Where are the suspects?"

"We took them back to our place for interrogation. I can tell you that our Alpha is pretty pissed at this point, and he will want some answers"

"I guess I can safely assume that one of your pack members were taken?" He brought out a notebook and pen and started taking notes of what I just said.

"Our Luna to be exact" I replied truthfully, not wanting a detail on this case to go missing.

"Oh goddess. Is she okay?" Mali looked at me gulped, knowing the laws for an attack on the Luna.

"Looks like it. Our Alpha already took off to the pack to take her to the hospital." Responding to him, I notice the local police coming in from the main road leading into the area.

"Looking at some of these girls, I would say that those two men or whoever was watching them over the last few days has piquerism.

Some of their cuts are not to kill them, but to inflict pain. The more they squirm, the more they get off and that sounds exactly like men who we have caught involved in kidnappings and murder." I stated, looking to where the girls are trembling.

"Thank you Kat. Can we use your BAU on this case? Ours are currently in Vegas for a case and they won't be back in time to deal with this." He put away the notepad and pen to look at us.

"Ofcourse Mali. You know you can count on us."

Kat, get back to the pack. Abby started having a seizure in the car. Driving as fast as I can.

We will be right there.

I shut my link with Arkyn and looked at Dante, shaking in his arms.

"Kitty, something wrong?"

"Abby. Hospital. We have to get there now. Sorry Mali, but we have to leave right away. Abby might be in more danger than we thought.

Arkyn

I felt a huge wave of relief wash over me the moment my mate was safe in my arms again.

I was a mix of emotions; anger, happiness, sadness.

I clenched my jaw when I saw her laying on the cold, hard cement with only shorts and a tank top, barefoot.

My anger only raised when I saw what they did to her face, the red hands on her shoulder showing clearing signs of her being handled roughly and without care.

She felt a bit warm to my touch, but given what just happened with Storm and the amount of power that went through her, that is understandable. I was driving fast and was almost at the packhouse when Chaos opened up in my mind

Danger. Look at mate

Shut up Chaos. you are going to let us crash.

LOOK AT MATE!!!

I stopped the car and pulled over to see my mate having a seizure in the backseat.

"s**t, my love. Almost there."

Stepping on the gas pedal, what normally would have been a ten minute drive to the hospital turned into a 2 minute drive.

They would have to fix the car since I almost crashed into the gate. My only worry was my mate right now. Her fever is getting higher by the second and she is still seizing.

I barely stopped the car in front of the hospital when I jumped out and threw open the car door to get Abby out.

"Doctor!!!!"
